Star Trek V - Communicator

If only I had a comm I'd do a run...

Anybody have any Grayhill buttons (I have a ST3 tric I'm building up). :)

There was almost a run on ASAP a few years ago. Someone did a run of brass lids, and someone else was going to cast up bodies with brass midplates--then it all fell through for some reason. Luckily, I ended up with one in a trade (no brass midplate though), but there never was a run.

Not to gloat, but here are some pics of my lucky acquisition. :)

Don't mind the lint and dust!

That is a Star Trek Three com not a Star Trek Five model.

Anyone here a copyright lawyer??

I would like to talk with one.

Rich

PS I did do a bunch of them years ago.

I never did a run of Fives.

Rich - I don't suppose you know of any licensed Trek III/V runs? It seems there is some interest both here and TPZ...

Treadwell's 'lucky acquisition' is now mine. :) Here it is next to the Trek V walkie-talkie comm (sorry for the blurriness).

I posted this pic in the thread about the ST3 Fed Comms so I figured I'd share it here too. I have a kit ST3 that I built complete with blinkies that's about 10 years old now. I also have a custom ST6 style Fed Comm that was made for me last year. I'm hoping someone does a run of light up ST5's some day. I want one for my collection. Also pictured is a STTE Comm for comparion:

I'm in the same boat - I'd like a light-up Trek V comm too. I'm definitely a novice propbuilder, but I'd be happy to help out with a run however I can. I just don't feel right about recasting my comm (which is somebody else's work).

I know Brent from Federation Surplus had said he was going to do a run when he did his Star Trek III run of Comm's, but nothing ever came of it. I keep hoping that one day I will see a thread in the junkyard about them, but so far, nothing.
