Star Trek TOS Universal Translator

Hi, I was thinking of trying to track down a kit or even good reference pics of the "original lightsaber"... the universal translator from TOS.

Any suggestions?

There are nice machined aluminum kits out there if you look. They even break down to become the recording device from, Arena.

Reviving since this is the only thread I see about this ..

Does anyone have any details about the original Metamorphosis translator prop? The few replicas I've seen are spot-on, so I was curious if the case was a found item (flash gun or otherwise).

And what does it mean to 'break down' into the Arena recording device? I know they are similar, but I didn't know they were the same prop/case (although it's hard to find close-ups of the Arena prop). Anyone have more details or photos of that prop too?
