May 10, 2010 - So I made a vacuum form table this weekend (and 2 new props) #1

I have been wanting a vacuum form table for a while now. So I decided to go ahead and make one after I started working on my iRobot Inhaler. I didn't know how else to make the nose piece. So I sculpted the nose piece out of sculpey and vac formed over the top of it out of clear plastic (and sandblasted the inside). Then machined the aluminum spray inside, and put it all together with some nickle tubes from Hobby Lobby.

So after that was done I thought about what else I could make. Then I came up with this!

I really want to buy/build one but I'm not excited about putting plastic in the oven (and my wife wouldn't be either). Is yours a self-heating one?

Nope, I put mine in a little convection toaster type oven. It is small though. I tried lots of different plastics this weekend and none of them stunk. I don't think it would hurt your real oven.
