    Dec 30, 2007 - * Showoff thread #1

I've been up all night putting the finishing touches on these prototypes.

I'm really pleased with how they've turned out. Manufactured of machined metal, each stand features a bright, brushed finish & adjustable brackets.

This is number # 2 in a series of themed display stands I've been working on.

    Very nice!

I presume the #1 theme is with the Imperial Logo background?

You may want to insert a rubber tubing, or a couple of 'O' rings onto the 'pins' so the saber won't roll off in case the table or the stand accidentally gets bumped.

No, the # 1 stand was for a different prop from another film. It was for the Sandman DS gun. I'm on a 'themed' display kick.

These stands were machined with a slight tilt to allow a saber to be cradled between the bracket and the body at a gentle angle; gravity does the rest. They really aren't going anywhere. It's a beefy display.

But, that's a good thought just the same. Might look cool, too. Perhaps I'll include them as an option if I ever offer these.

    Thanks!

Thanks, this is just a showoff thread for now.

The pieces pictured above are mine. I haven't quite decided if I'll offer them, yet.

I love these stands. If there is anyway for the Empire symbol let me know.

    Thanks!

Those are cool! Heck you should make the symbols without the stand mounts and sell them as wall plaques as well.

These are cool Rylo, one comment though the saber blocks the lower curves of the symbol, would be sweet if it didnt.

LOL...I think it's just one of those things people either dig-on or they don't.

Here we have a stand. It's not a political statement or a form of abstract expressionism...it's just a stand.

One guy thinkin' outside the box a little...

Like I said, it's just piece # 2 in my personal display series.

I might consider it if the interest was there. I may start a dedicated thread about that soon...not sure, yet. I have gotten a bunch of messages about them, though.

    Thanks guys.

That's a whole different stand, bro. BUT, I'll get to it!!!

I've got crazy ideas for that one. Gotta get the phaser stand finished first.

Very sharp work as always, Rylo.

Looks as if there might be space for two pairs of slots, above and below, so that you could make a version that displays two sabers, if you were so inclined.

Neat idea...I think I'm gonna keep it as-is, though.

I think it would be cool to see different paint jobs on them, too. Helmet themed paint schemes, weathered, etc. Just thinkin'

    Cheers

Yes... very cool stand with lots of customizing potential!

And from what you've written already in this thread, it sounds as if there are more great display ideas coming from you soon.

Happy New Year, Rylo -- and to all of us on the RPF!
