Sherlock Holmes Collection

I have a kinda large Sherlock Holmes collection, books, victorian stuff and a lot of self-made (primarily paper) props. If you have ideas, please let me know and if you are collector of Sherlock Holmes items, please let me know also. I focus on the 'original' Holmes. I like the Granada (Jeremy Brett) series. But I also have props relating to bbc's Sherlock.

I love the Jeremy Brett series. My favourite Holmes.
The only thing I can suggest is this - make sure you have a Bradshaw's guide!

Love to see some pics. I have a room that's very Holmes/Victorian/Hogwarts! Be interested in comparing.

I will upload some pics, but I have to sort it out first. Would love to see yours!

I have tried to find a bradshaw's but they are a bit hard to find. I have a strand magazine though.

If you're looking for a genuine, antique Bradshaw's, you'll be looking for a while and probably have to pay through the nose for it.
However, thanks to the recent series by Michael Portillo, they have been reprinted. You can get them from certain websites (like ones named after rain forests!)

I remain a HUGE fan of Granada TV's Sherlock Holmes, starring the late Jeremy Brett. A wonderful adaptation of the books and short stories.

Indeed, I also like the RDJ versions and the rathbone ones. Sherlock is nice, I have some props, but I wish to focus more on the victorian props now.

Wow that's great! I would love to have a fireplace :)

By the way, how did you do the Reichenbach painting? I tried to make that one but I couldn't find a right picture.

Thanks! Here's a close-up.

I went to some lengths for that picture, recreating a high-res version from an engraving. I have the (huge) file hanging around here somewhere, I'll see if I can get it hosted.

Here's the digital version of the Reichenbach Falls engraving I have hanging over my fireplace. It's from the same source as the one in the Granada Sherlock Holmes.

It's here: Lumber Room

Save the TIF to disk; it's only a 12MB file, but it is huge when uncompressed for display -- 10824x16352 pixels.

Here's a thumbnail (3% of actual size):

You should have them make a bunch of these and sell them online. I know I'd buy one!

deck5, could you share the copy of the file for the large Reichenbach Falls b&w print you have, I am wanting to have one made like the one in the Granada series but am afraid if I use a small copy the pixels will show. Would appreciate your help, thanks!

deck5, your Holmes room is amazing ! I love everything related to Sherlock Holmes (including, of course, Brett, RDJ and BBC Sherlock) and I'm awed by what you did to this room ! Makes me want to do some Holmes props ! :thumbsup

Absolutely amazing and thanks so much for the large Granada Reichenbach download.

I'm actually currently working on a set custom 1:6 scale figures of Brett and Hardwicke for myself- they're around 50% done.

The headaculpts are not by me, but from a talented friend:

Very nice!

I'm lucky in that my house was built in 1880, so looks pretty Holmesian to begin with. There's nothing I like better than the open fire, my comfortable chair and an episode of the Granada Sherlock Holmes. :)

The Reichenbach etching above the fireplace will really set thing off though, thanks again for that. I've been looking for a hi-res copy for years!
