One could be of the sonic RogueScout made for himself and the other mine. Strange that they'd differ though. It might just be different cameras and different lighting conditions and still the same prop.

I could swear I saw one or 2 over in E-space once upon a time... couple years ago... probably from that Time Lord's Pocket bloke. But I'm checking out the Bay at the moment, and not seeing any of his screwdrivers up there right now. Curiouser and curiouser.

Sadly TLP rolled up his awning and turned his sign to CLOSED a while ago and won't be back at it. :-(

That sucks. Sucks quite a lot. He made absolutely awesome replicas of the 4th Doctor's Sonic.

I know. My first McGann sonic replica was made by him and he really was great to work with.

I have to say that I've been blessed to be able to work with and help (with the research data) a good number of very talented good people when it comes to replicas of the sonic. Several of them members here. Getting more awesome sonics for my collection certainly doesn't hurt either.

This is about the only screen grab I've found on the web. If someone has Horns of the Nimon on DVD and wouldn't mind doing some screen grabs of this scene it would help.

I did a quick check of youtube because you never know but no luck.

Look at the width (and thickness) of the color bands, I am pretty sure that is colored electrical tape wrapped around the shaft

. Also looking at that photo, I think the top of the slide is tapered just like the Baker sonic only with bands cut in (or taped on).

The reason why they are both different is because one was made for Wayne aka Propreplicator (R.I.P) and the second one was made for Greatwazoo42. There is a variant due to me fiddling with the design. I believe they were both created about two years apart. Keep in mind... much of what I created was the best I could do off of a VIDEO tape. I am almost 100% positive after seeing the new screen grabs off the DVD that the original was probably cobbled together with known parts and electrical tape. I highly doubt the prop makers back in the 70's ever thought this thing would be seen in the clarity or detail of DVD or Blueray we have today. Also given the lack of budget by the BBC, I highly doubt it was a custom machined piece for Horns of Nimon.

I had no idea Lalla kept her sonic. She mentioned this at a con or in an interview somewhere? Well I don't have her contact/agent info but if anyone does and wants to take point on it, I'm all ears.
