So I have decided to make a Rocketeer getup for Halloween... Helmet... Check. Jet pack... Soon...

Looking good! Make sure to fill in that wood grain though for full effect.

Sadly, i've never seen the Rocketeer ( I know, I know....."Get on it!!!" ) but I do appreciate the designs, especially the helmet. Keep going!

What chisels did you use on the wood lathe.
Nice lathe skills too.
What did you use for the rivet looking things

I bought a hobby set from home depot (buck bros), I used a bowl gouge, skew and flat chisle (husky)

This took a few try's and 2 days.

The "rivets" are furniture tacks.

Hey man! Nicely done!

Never would I have thought to make this out of wood!

For the braided cables, I used some coax cable. Worked very nicely.

It's the same PVC I used for the main rocket housing. I cut it into strips on a band saw.
