Well, there was a reason I mounted the glass on the bottom. I can't remember what it was though. I think that in the end I thought that it might be a little harder to do it that way, mainly because the inside of the lid is curved, and getting the glass to sit flush might be a little tricky.

That casting in there of Tarman is supposed to be cast off an original. I know someone that's got the melted and pre-melted versions. I liked the pre-melted version better.

OK kids, class is in. Today we are going to tackle the topic of the Trioxin barrel
from ROTLD Part 2.For the 2nd installment of the series, the director Ken Wiederhorn
"for whatever reason" has a complete new design for the Trioxin canisters.
Ok, that's fine...but when trying to make a replica of it, there are many
differences from barrel to barrel. Obviously, they are not all the same.
I personaly believe that there are at least 4 different screen used barrels.
Not counting the background barrels. I'm reffering to the up front closeup and hero
barrels. I hope that this thread helps you guys get the details you
might have otherwise missed, and sheds a little light on the mystery that is the
ever changing Trioxin Tank. First off let me start by saying that this is just a
how I see it post, as I was not there and did not help build the props...so if anybody
has anything to add or correct please feel free to do so. Let's start with Pic 1.

going to focus on barrels 1,2,3, and 4. The rest are just background barrels that
we never get a clear shot of anyway. Right away you will notice that 1 is different from
the other three. This appears to be the same style barrel with un updated lid. If you look in the blue circles and compare it appears that the lids of 2 and 3 have a slight upwards curve to them. It also appears that the lids of 2 and 3 just sit down inside the lip of the barrels for this shot. I gather this from the fact that the lid of 2 is uneven
by quite a bit,this could be from the jarring motion of the back of the truck during
filming. Notice the lip of the lid gets wider from left to right.
Next let's focus on the purple square. Barrel 1 has the original style
compression ring while the rest don't. In fact, in this opening scene it almost looks like
the compression part of the other barrels has been covered with some kind of tape and painted over...as there are no consistent details on it. Finally the lid. They added "metal" bands and a handle to the top. If you will direct your attention to the green square, you will see that this is not metal at all. This is most likely some kind of weather stripping or some sort of other peel and stick tape with a good thickness to it. Maybe a thin sheet of plastic that has been glued down. You can see the wrinkles in the square, so it's not anything too rigid. Hope this helps, I will be doing another post most likely later today with more details and comparisons. Joe

I always thought that looked like wide masking tape on the lid. I wonder what the keypad housing was made from. I never saw a clear shot of where the glass on it opens.

I don't think it's supposed to "open", I believe it's a break glass kind of thing. Joe

Ha, almost forgot the Key-Panel, I'll have to order that too.

Take the sticker you want to apply and place it on the barrel. Trace it light ly with a pencil. Tape off that area with painters tape, leaving the sticker area exposed...make sure to cover a good 4 inches all the way around that area. Use 3m spray adhesive on the barrel and back of the sticker. Let it set for a minute then apply it, keeping pressure on it for a few minutes afterward. This should hold it no problem. Joe

I just used Super Glue Gel for my sticker. I use it for pretty much anything, it doesn't run and feels as strong as two part epoxy when its done drying.

Is that super glue gel holding ok to the barrel's paint??? I have had mixed results depending on the type of paint. Also could you let me know which calculator had the "exact" buttons other than the arrows? I want to compare them to what I have researched so far. Thanks Joe

The glue is holding fine on mine. It pretty much bonds to anything. The only thing I've ever had trouble with is things I probably shouldn't have tried it on, like felt, lol. I used it on a Jester head from Puppet Master. I drilled a hole through the head, poured some glue into the hole, and then put it onto the wire body and its held great. I even tried getting it apart once to repair it at one point, but it wouldn't come off.

Here's the link to the keypad I found. The four looks to be identical.

Glad to hear that the glue worked. Are you sure that's the right link, the piece that comes up looks nothing like the Part 2 keypad. The four is a closed top instead of an open. Joe

Here you go. As you can see the 4 is open and the 5 looks like an S. Also keep in mind that the buttons, while being square...have the round concave spot on them. So they aren't just a flat top button. You can see the shadows from the concave under the red arrows. Joe

Man, you're right. I guess in the journey of searching countless pages I completely forgot what the damn thing looked like, lol.

I found a calculator that had similar buttons, although I'm sure it'd be pretty obvious they're not meant to be a used as a key-pad.

That's because they don't make them like that. All you are seeing is a 9 or 10 key keypad with concave numbers. The bottom part of the keypad is concealed by the facade of the control panel. The bottom row of keys is nothing more than stickers. There is a red and blue triangle to match the red and blue lights, and then a sideways rectangle in the middle.
