Sorry, I've tried to fix the images I'm new to this.
The point of this build is I don't want 'grown' crystals. Kryptonite is a metiorite and that's kinda what I want it to look like.

Showing my age, but I remember these.....

Yeah I used a different image host, just an iPhone app, don't know why photo bucket wouldn't work?.
Any way I've glued the LED's and 'kryptonite' into the 'meteorite'.

Need to fill around the kryptonite to stop it looking so uniform, make and fit battery holder and then paint with acrylic mixed with sand to give it some texture. I'll start on this as soon as the glue's dry, maybe this evening, probably tomorrow. I'll start on its box later.

Finished this off today, box n' all. Rethinking things, maybe it's not a realistic Kryptonite, but that's down to interpretation I suppose. What it is, is a Kryptonite meteor rock. Don't get me wrong it's exactly what I set out to make, it looks like a meteor, glows like you'd expect Kryptonite to glow and looks pretty cool (I think). Most of all I'm happy with it. Onwards to the next project.

Any chance you could reduce the image size back to say 800 pixels wide? Looks good (what I can see anyway).

I had those rocks back in the day. I bought them at the SuperHero store in Michigan somewhere.

Huge pics indeed, but if using Firefox browser, hold down "ctrl" and tap the minus key - and the + key to zoom in again

Sorry about picture size guys, like I said at the start this is my first post so expect a few mistakes. I had a lot of trouble just getting them up. I'll take a look next week see if I can reduce them, heading to London at 2am so it'll have to wait for now I'm afraid.

Nice work! Probably better off using a metal box (or painting over the wooden box to make it look like a solid metal box?). It would give the impression it was made of lead which would make more sense than one simply made of wood.

Otherwise, a great first build on the rpf! Well done!

Thanks, I used a wooden box mostly because of cost the total build was around £4. I did paint the inside to appear lead lined and the outside was carved with kryptonese. Sadly I don't have anymore pictures of this, I gave it to a friend for his birthday. Thanks again for the positive comments.

I love your project! It looked very convincing. As a rock lover, I would recommend that if you decide to make another one, weather the meteor with some browns and rust... About 98% of the debris that enters our atmosphere vaporizes. The stuff that makes land-fall is usually, mostly, iron-ore. Exposure to our atmosphere would cause some oxidation. I only recommend that for the "realistic" aspect. Great model, though. I love it!

Thanks guys and thanks Cadeus, I'll definitely take that onboard. I've been meaning to revisit this for myself and make a display stand with Green, Red and Gold Kryptonite.

That is a great looking prop. I love the look of a "real" meteorite.

Me too! This does remind me more the of the Smallville kryptonite then the movies. I once made a decent one out of hardware silicone and some food coloring. Came out great except that it wouldn't take light very well. But as a static prop, it looked neat.
