I hate to do this but do not know where else to turn. Last March I commissioned Carl (RPF member PainterX) to paint up my sgt Taz Hannibal lector bust. He had good communication with me at first so I had no issue with sending him my bust and $350 dollars to finish it. Well unseen circumstances happend a few months into the commission and Carl's mother passed. My heart went out to him and told him to take time for himself to grieve and not worry about finishing the bust for a while. He agreed and I was very understanding giving it almost 6 months without communicating with him. By the end of the summer, mid September I decided to see what was up and if he was okay. First his response time was was very delayed but he did respond and told me he was working on my bust. I was reassured are deal was still okay. He even sent me a picture of the progress where he had only begun painting the skin tone (base tone). I was a little frustrated since it had been so long and very little progress was done but atleast I was seeing progress. He promised the bust would be finished by the end of October. Well October came and went and I pmed him and about a week later he stated that he was still working on it and that it would be finished by the end of November for sure. That it was his first priority. Well November came and went so I decided to be patient and not pm him till January accounting for the holidays. So January 2010 hots and I email him and two weeks pass with no response. I even email him through his email. Middle of January hits and I ask him to either communicate with me and have the bust finshed within the month or atleast closely finshed or just return my bust to me and my $350 dollars. Well of course January ends and no response. Can anyone help me? I feel as if I have been scammed out of my bust and my money by Carl. He was so nice and communicated so well in the beginning that I never thought are deal would turn out this way. Next month is one year since I commissioned him for the paint up and build. Guess I'm out of luck and out my money and my bust. So i guess this is a warning to anyone to not do business with Carl (PainterX) since he is not a man of his word but unfortunately has turned the route of becoming a scammer. If anyone knows him personally please relay this message to him. I want to believe this situation can still work out in my benefit but sadly I believe it won't. Thanks for listening.

Got an update on this slimeball. Well after numerous attempts to contact Carl through his email and through here and getting ignored it seems he is now getting out of the hobby and selling his stuff on ebay.

I am owed a fully finished Hannibal Lector bust in which I purchased from Sgt Fang way over a year and a half ago and sent it to Carl to finish Last March. Now look what he is SELLING on ebay:

Please someone help me on what to do. I have contacted Carl numerous times about his auction to only get ignored. Is this evidence enough to press charges against him in an attempt to get my money and bust back. I know for a fact this is his personal copy, I wrote him about just sending me this one to make up for what he owes me but of course no response. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Buy it, pay for it, get it shipped, then file a claim for not as advertised through paypal.

Or buy it and go collect it in person - see what the reaction is then!!!!!

yeah if you live in his area , Go get it from him. emailing and slapping his wrist only works for so long and with certain people. I've done it before and it never got too ugly. Of ocurse my good friend is a cop and always packs heat
I think i need to get into the bust painting business if he's making that much and paint job looks like he's already dead...man..

Do you have all communications, including proof of payment? If you have a paper trail, take it to the police. Seriously.

Hi auctions look like they were pulled. Hopefully he did it and is going to ship that finished Hannible head to you.

I'm personally keeping record files on my computer about these kind of slim so if I ever run into them I'll know not to do business with them.....maybe the forum ought to keep a data base of frauds so members can do some background checks before sending money to perfect strangers across the USA they basically have to trust they don't get ripped off by them.

Just to let everyone know the problem has been resolved I gave him my personal piece He seems happy. I never ripped him off I just had alot of trouble doing this piece alot of techinical and personal issues came up

Not to be rude or anything, seeing as I'm only new and all. But coming into this late I can clearly state that I dont think anybody will want to commision you to do jobs for them for awhile if at all.

Just my 2 cents.
