In case you haven't ordered your seven dogtag set from dealers yet, it is now available through QMx's site. You get seven pairs of tags in the set:

William Adama
Saul Tigh
Lee Adama
Kara Thrace
Karl Agathon
Sharon Agathon
Galen Tyrol

For some reason Tyrol isn't listed (they only list six), but dealers have all listed that as the seventh. The set is 104.95 plus $15 shipping

Also, available only from QMx's site direct, and limited to 3000 is a gold plated set of tags for Admiral Caine! $19.99 plus $7 shipping

Both are set as "Q1" release dates. I've heard that the seven tag set is due out late January or early to mid February. Hopefully Caine's will be released around then as well.

I think BSG is the greatest show on TV right now but for some reason their props don't appel much to me. I can't wait to see their Galactica though.

Yeah, I have heard that from a few folks. My fingers are crossed - I hope that actually happens sometime in the future.

Didn't mention on the website... is the lettering and the emblem etched or stamped into the tags or are they simply painted or screen printed on them?

Since engraving/etching is not specifically mentioned, I'm assuming it's just screen printed. Looks screen printed now that I look at it again.

Hmm... the originals were stamped or etched. Maybe the QMx guys can give clarification.

I agree, the props from the show were definitely stamped, etched, or engraved, that much was very clear. I still want a set with my name on them though. Walking around with somebody else's name around your neck (especially a dude's) is kinda teh gay.

And yes, Starbuck is a man, so it still counts. Seriously, can they get much more butch than Kateeeeee Sackhoff? Might as well have Rosie O'Donnell crisco herself into a viper cockpit.

The original tags we received from the set are laser-etched plastic, and painted in a bronze/weathered finish.

On the QMx replica, the name, serial number, and Galactica crest are cast into the tag (there is a separate tool for each character). Our tags are Zamac, plated in bronze and weathered to match!

I wonder if those were an early proto as I've seen a post by a guy that went to a con where one of the actors had his tags with him and the guy got pictures and a chance to examine them... definitely metal.

Either way, glad to hear that the QMx versions will have molded lettering.

Do both tags have the name and serial number like one of the new photos show, or is it one tag with name/serial and the other with a larger crest and no text like shown in earlier preview images?

I have some fan made tags from the A.S.A.P. boards, which are very good quality and very accurate but since only Apollo and Starbuck runs were made I'd buy the exclusive Admiral set, but is that how her name is spelled? I thought it was Cain and not Caine.

Correct. No "e". It's just "Cain". Hopefully, that's just a website typo and not on the final product, because... ouch. That'll be three controversies in just as many products.

I checked with QMX Customer Service, and this was the reply:

The spelling on the website is a typo. The artwork that was submitted several months ago to our manufacturer says "Cain".

Glad to know that. I hope they sell the other tags separately in the future.
