I'm not sure if it's of any use to anyone, but I just did a really simple Aliens inspired push top grenade from old drink bottle parts. I did post it on the RPF, but thought it might help someone in this thread too, given how simple it was to make something pretty cool.

Here's a link to the post about how it was done: Aliens inspired push top grenade how to post.

minor threadjack - does anyone know if a part list for bigyellowbox sabers exists, translated into UK shopping links? I'm looking for the parts and I think some of them might be called something else here in London.

^^This is a great idea. Lightsabers from the Big Yellow Box <-- this is an old site that still works and you can pick a style of lighsaber to build and use his parts list to hit up the plumbing section at Lowe's or Home Depot . Something like this is a great starting point if you like Star Wars stuff.

This was my first prop endeavor, several years ago.

I didn't follow their directions exactly. Mostly that site got me thinking and looking around at stuff and seeing the parts I could use. I ended up with a saber handle that looks more Kenobi-ish then the LSFTBYB ones - but still pretty far from screen accurate. Very fun nonetheless.

Be careful when you hit that Big Yellow Box saber build link - Google Chrome shot up a huge Malware warning when I tried to view the page...
