Saw The Posession at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Nice little horror movie with some brilliant acting. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but the box is just begging for a replica and, with the contents, will make a really interesting project. Anyone started collecting reference material?

To be fair, this is not at all viral marketing. All of the eBay auctions actually transpired. The events listed in such auctions is clearly questionable.Lear60man said:

The current owner of the original box, Jason Haxton, has also written at least one book on it, also pre-dating any work on the film "The Possession." There are numerous forum threads and articles chronicling the box and it's existence. I even remember hearing about it years ago. Back on the topic of replicating the box, I've heard from an interview with Haxton that when the original box was replicated (I believe they went with a different design for the film, but I'm nowhere near sure about that) that it supposedly "carried the paranormal characteristics of the original, as if it were the original box itself" which I honestly don't believe for a second. Either way, it would be a really cool project, either the movie or "real" version, especially with all of the objects inside.

I watched it tonight - interesting show. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.
The Dybbuk box would be a cool prop (slash, real world item) to replicate - creepy as hell, right up my street.
