I am filling my O'Brien DS9 tool box. One of the items in the case is the DS9 style hand lamp.

Here are pix of some that were sold on ebay. Can anyone help me ID where these came from? I can probably scratch build something that matches it, but I'd rather find the item and 'Trek it up.'

Wow I don't remember those. What did the auction say about the internal workings?

I know they used Sure-Fires for a lot of them.

Off the top of my head I would say the front part looks like one of my old Night-Ride Helmet Lights for Cycling.

I can't remember what they said about ithem. I was thinking helmet lights too. I do have screen shots of one in the tool box, and I can make some from the episodes where the characters used them in DS9.

Looks like a light off a video camera.

Here's some shots of the light in O'Brien's case. As seen next to the tricorder, it looks like it could be pretty big.

Sorry about the quality of the second image. I took it before I had good capture software. I'll be spending some time re-watching DS9 on the PC taking snaps of a lot of different props for future reference.

Agreed... the front portion does indeed look like one of the older style vid camera lights but the back looks like it was added.

I don't think I ever saw these in use.

The lamp in question is a video light, It has a rechargable batt. pack as well. It was modified for a differant look. I made 4 of these for DS9 When the propmaster said he needed it to look differant than the ones on TNG. The video lights were purchaced at Fry's Electronics in Burbank, Calif. I think it was some were around the 4th season? It's been a while. The light was on the long end orginally, Buttons were added and wire to turn on and off. If I can think of anything else I will post it.

    Hope this helps,
