I like to make 3 props from this series of movies.

The phantasm sentinel balls with each device that sprung from the ball, the dimensional fork gateway, & the cutting tool used to open (I forgot his name)'s head.

I used the metal sphere garden decorations. Perfect size, and already hollow with no seam lines.

I bought a bunch of them years ago when they had temporarily clearances them at pier 1

What's the perfect diameter for the chrome ball? Does it vary from movie to movie?

I think there all the same size sphere. Yoy could try to look up the info or revew the movies to be shure.

For the right size, find a screencap of one of the charactors being spiked, like the priest from the second movie. The point were the sphere is squirting his brains out. Now, take a pic of yourself holding a carbord cut out sphere shape infront of your head & compare photos. Remember to lable the size of each cutout clearly for the camera.

I don't have the money yet to get the parts for my Phantasm dimension fork yet, so I'm giving my estimated measurements to anyone who would like to make it themselves.

I'll be making a video on my gate once I get the parts for it.

Manly it will be made of PVC pipe & silver chrome spray paint.

I found a christmas ornament that came loaded with chocolets & looked the right size for a phantasm ball.

Refrencing with this pics, one of me & a screencap from the 2nd movie, tell me what you think.

I just thought of an ide for my dimensional fork gateway.

Dos anyone know how those touch activated toys work? Like this toy duck with two metal bumps on the bottom, & when you touch them it quack's?

I'd like to do the same with the gateway. Touch both the pols & it turns on or off a looped sound of the gateway.

It would have three sounds. The start up sound, the looped vibrating sound & the end powering down sound.
Maybe have some programed other sounds you can select by touching the side of ether pol.

In the series of Phantasm movies they used a yellow embalming blood.

Anyone know what the FX department used to make this effect?

The only thing I can figure is its ether waterd down musterd or non-toix paint, becase in a cuple senes Reggie got ebalming blood in his mouth.

Im working on the recipe for the Phantasm yellow embalming blood.
I'v only made a small amout, so far, but I am tring to make a recipe for a galons worth of yellow.

How do you think they edited out the cameras reflection on the sentinal balls? Digital editing, smoke & mirrors, or some other form of special FX's Im not aware of?

I'v goten around to making one of the sentinals. I think it' know as the surgery sentinal, the one with the saw blade. Befor I show you some othe pictures I took, I'd like to the info I'v found on making a phantasm seninal.They can be made of bent alumminum, plastic spheres like christmas ball oniments you can het at a hobby store. You can ether paint them with a mitalic spray paint or find a silver croming kit.Im not quite shure what the size of the ball is ( I'll have to get som screencaps for mesureing). The one I'm using is an aluminum christmas orniment, 4 1/2 in size, that came with chocolet candys inside.Pictures coming soon, (it takes awile to load up with the slow computer speed I have).

I used a cleaned CD for the blade. I scanned the CD, photoshoped it to the size I wanted then copied out a temple & marked out the cut lines on the cleaned CD. You have to have CD cleaned or you cant see the diagram threw the CD.I'm working on a diagram were the blade pops up using a spring loaded bicycle brake line & a wood lever attached to the motor & spinning blade.

I was thinking, do I put the motor on the top with the blade, or down at the pivit point with a rubber band to the blade? As for the bicycle brake line. I taught of attaching it to the lever & attaching the other end to a Nerf gun spring. Would the spring be hard enough to push the brake line & push up the lever & motor? The wood lever is made to go up so far.

I want to make on using plastic.. is that okay? How can I make the "gapes" for the blades? Do I cut it with a knife?
