    Jun 29, 2012 - Old (looking) maps #1

I just finished weathering and framing two of Jon's 'jheilman' pieces. He's really done most of the work for you :-)

For Thror's map, I spent a few hours drawing over parts of the map again with pale grey markers to make it look a little more hand drawn. Then had fun with the weathering. To finish I had a custom frame made (One of the advantages of living in Thailand is that it only cost me $20) and just used double sided tap to stick it down, thus keeping it secure but not flat.

    And the Time Bandits map.
Spent about two weeks 'beating the crap out of it' to get the look I wanted. Once the folds were in, I carried it around in my bag, sat on it, stepped on it and generally abused it. Then I used a knife, sandpaper and paint to finish off. Spent good money on a custom frame, but it makes for a center piece now! Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, I'll post another later.
