hey guys I just purchased this item on ebay
looks like it was a production sample made by Nike of the BTTF2 hat. I've seen this mentioned somewhere on the forums before. Does anyone have anymore info on the hat or own one that could tell me how good of a replica it actually is. I have the Diamond hat which is cool but this looks to be more screen accurate being fitted and not adjustable. I just thought it was cool being a rare real Nike promotional piece. Will go great with my footware bag.
Did the seller provide you with any provenance before you payed?

considering in 5 minutes I found about 10 different auctions selling what appears to be the exact same hat for significantly less, I think this guy may be out to rip people..
looks like that hat is a little more screen accurate because it's fitted. But that price is absolutely ridiculous. I own the adjustable one and honestly unless you're a hardcore BTTF fan nobody is going to be able to tell the difference, and mine was $20 at a comic book store.
I own that sellers cap and compared to my miraj cap and diamond select cap it's an easy second place to my miraj cap.The miraj cap and This sellers caps are Very similar and are definitely made different.For anyone even mentioning the mass produced DS cap it is complete garbage believe me.this seller is legit and they are not miraj caps converted to Nike footwear ones that's for sure.Looks like Nike took a miraj cap and tried replicating it.Nike did a great job replicating the miraj cap if I might add and as being comfortable not so much compared to miraj.I currently have one in the junkyard and it's the only one I have.

Wow, these caps look great. Better than the Diamond Select ones. But are they really from Nike? Is there any proof that Nike did ever produce BTTF II caps?
Yes Roland as far as we know these caps are sample caps from the release of the Nike mags.Why nike never released them i couldn't say but maybe it was a costly experiment and not worth it in the end.As far as I see it these caps were professionally made by someone and they have a legit Nike footwear logo in the inside and also they go by fitted sizes as the miraj caps go by small,medium and large sizes only.anyway they are cool caps but i still prefer miraj brand
The problem with my own Miraj cap is the size: It's too large for my head. When I ordered the cap a few years ago, there was one size only. There was no possibility of size selection until the final version of the cap.
Thanks for verifying Pit, I knew you would have some info. I remember reading a post on here from someone who was at the Nike Mag event or saw photos from it and noticed a couple of these sample hats floating around. Never thought I would actually have a chance to own one though. If anyone looks at my other posts or collection you would definitley see i'm a pretty big fan and $125 to own an official rare Nike produced hat is worth it to me. Being the miraj hats go for about this price anyway why not go with official Nike instead.
Yes Roland I remember the first run of the caps.The final version did come in other sizes and of course with no button on top.
@dondula that is exactly why I bought the official Nike footwear cap to compliment my official mags and that's why I also bought jiggawhos bag also

I purchased a hat from ebay, just got it today. Its made by Diamond Select. Looks good, but it is huge and very stiff!! I compared it to my regular hats, too big.
Are those Nike ones made by Nike? Whats the story on them? I tried looking for them, but nothing!

The hats were in fact produced by Nike. There was a very limited prototype run for the Nike Mag launch and they were given out as promotional items. These hats are made to specific head sizes. I wasn't sure what my hat size was, and ended up getting a 7 which fits just a bit snug but shape wise fits so much better then the Diamond selects hat. I've seen a couple Nike hats appear on ebay in the past and sell between $125 and $150. If you can find a Miraj made hat, those are also very good, but will be pricey being they were discontinued some time ago.1batt4u said:

Hey guy if you don't know your hat size all you have to do is measure your head where you wear your hat. Then divide that number by 3. It should be 6, 7 or 8 and some left over. You convert that left over to a faction. So you get a number like 6,7or 8 plus 1/4,1/2,7/8. I hope that makes since.
