Ok I know there has been many conversion style on these 'markpoon's nike mcfly'

But I like to share my nearly 4 weeks of NIGHTMARE with the conversions!!!

Quick story I could have completed it in 2weeks.. but lets just say there was a few loose ends and I needed to COMPLETELY remove the inner workings out again and start on improvising the circuit. As of what your going to see is my Mag Circuit (Mark 3).

Circuit is design to be completely wireless "hidden wires" both internally and externally and resembles as closely as possible to Nike's 2011 Mag!!!

I try to make it as easy to understand and trust me I did not know what I was gonna go through, never worked on shoes, work with paints but not on shoes and I have not been in-touch with my electronics side for years.....

ENJOY!!!

ITEMS:
1 - 8 Red Leds 1-2v
2 - 8 Yellow Leds 1-2v
3 - 8 Green Leds 1-2v
4 - 8 Blue Leds 3v
5 - Battery 9v
6 - Inverter
7 - LOTS of resistors
8 - Battery Holder
9 - 3m wires
10 - 1m wire shrink (1mm, 2.5mm 3mm)
11 - ON/OFF Switch
12 - PCB (Circuit Board)
13 - Blue/Green Paint
14 - Soldering Iron
15 - Solder Wire
16 - Hot Glue
17 - Hot Glue Sticks
18 - Super Glue
19 - Duct Tape
20 - News Paper

21 - EL Panel was included by Markpoon for the Nike Logo

1 - Paint Job

Covering the shoe with newspaper and duct tape for edges and holding the whole covers together! I've used a Auto Paint and use a fork to splat out the paint nicely and evenly throughout the entire sole as designed. RESULT: AWESOME!!!!

2 - Circuit (Mark 1)

Design Philosophy: A circuit to match the 2011 Nike Mag!!!

1 - 1 Battery
2 - 1 Switch to ON everything!
3 - SMALL
4 - Flexible & Durable
5 - Comfort
6 - Design to replicate 2011 Nike Mag
7 - Easy battery access/replacement
8 - AWESOME!!!

Looks easy and basic, I could not get hold of any EL Paper/Panel for the shoe sole, my best bet was EL Wire. BUT its not as bright as I thought it would have been... RESULT: SAD...

12 Leds for the side lighting!!!

(Mark 2)
Still with the basic design but with added wires as to power the leds for the sole, the bright level was great!! However the circuit was not tough to carry the weight and 'wear & tear' so its not durable and wires starts to break!!! RESULTS: ARRGGGHH!!

(Mark 3)
Same principle with basic design to its "simplicity" and added rubber shrink for water proofing and durability!!! As you can see the picture below is where the wire will run in around the shoe and where the hidden ON/OFF switch will be located!!! RESULTS: HELL YEA!!!!

3 - Installation
Removed the sole pads and the hard wood sole (hard wood was a b**** to remove but i got that thang removed!!!)

1 - Sanding down on the inner sole to fit the inverter and battery compartment
2 - Drilling some holes in soles for wires in the sole
3 - Drill a hole & enlarge the side panel for the side lighting
4 - Cut a tiny hole at the back of the upper back of the shoe for the wire to run through the strap for the NIKE logo
5 - Loosing the inner sleeves of the shoe to run wire into the shoe
RESULTS: GAGAGAGAGA......

Clean and welcoming for the feet!!!

Under the hood where the MAGIC happens!!! (STILL CLEAN for Battery Replacement)

Side Leds in all its GLORY!!!!

4 - Applying all the details (THE FUN PART as its the EASIEST!!)

5 - RESULTS: McFly to Nike MAG!!!

1 - Leather PVC for the Strap
2 - Leather PVC for the Nike Tick logo
3 - Back Strap holder pads is glued with Velcro each side to hold in place (Removable)
4 - Battery last up to 4-5Hrs (Replace battery no charging required)
5 - Switch ON/OFF is hidden and easy access
6 - Took me forever but its worth it, its COMPLETE!

Conclusion
I guess this is what I am capable of doing AT ITS MAXIMUM it was really tiring doing or even thinking about it... from the tiny tiny details to the big ones... but I'm satisfied!!

I wish I can EL Panels to improve on it especially for the sole then it will be the closest to the Nike Mag as of now I'm sticking to to this.. but my Circuit (Mark 1) with the improvements on (Mark 3) will be able to do the job for that conversion for anyone for wishes to apply it.

Really really impressive dude! The first pic I saw of these was the final one you posted in another thread, and I did a double-take because I thought they were the real mags for a second. Besides the 4 LEDs for the side "battery indicator," it's amazing the psychological effect of raising the strap higher than the Markpoons originally have it. And of course the longer swoosh helps too. I'll keep an eye out for your lighting kit. Definitely interested in that.

Excellent job so far, keep it going! That paint job on the sole is almost perfect, and the one thing that makes a difference here over Marks amazing first effort, is that the strap is in the correct place. If you could rework the shoe like Brads with the less shiny and sponge-like silver material and have a more accurate clear rubber over the LEDs, it's there!!
