Cavx is right, unfortunately the first moment you walk with them the grey of the shoes will start to crack. I think I'm going to get a silver K-mags pair and do the sole & heel cup painting only so I can wear them occasionally.

The tops of the silver K-MAGs are painted. So what about spray paint?

Years ago I needed to add some, lets call it detail, to a item of clothing and I used spray paint out of a can. Once dry, it was machine washable and did not peel, crack or other for the time I had the article. I used a primer paint which comes in black, grey and white.

I think if you wiped the shoes down with acetone before painting, that you will get better adhesion because acetone is what is used to "prime" PVC pipe before gluing.

I don't think any spray paint sold nowadays would be able to withstand not cracking while wearing the shoes, even with the primer.

Tomorrow I will go to a local hardware store that I know still sells the same brand I used. For the price of a can of paint, this is worth some R&D. It will even be worth buying some more vinyl to test that as well.

WOW Caloss, sounds like you are on to a winner. Look forward to the pics and more information about this.

For those wanting to change the colour of their MAGs, I found a spray pack paint made especially for vinyl at an automotive shop today. It is actually made for repainting or changing the colour of vinyl car seats! Hopefully this means that it will not flake or peel or crack under movement. The paint is not cheap for a spray pack. The paint comes in many colours and the two shades of grey listed were all out of stock, so I didn't buy any today. One says "light grey" and the other says "charcoal", which I think might be too dark for this project. I won't know until I actually see it.

On scale of 0~10 (where 0 = black and 10 = white) at what point do you guys think the shoes should be? I am thinking about 6. Thoughts?

I am also getting pairs of professionally cut SWOOSHs done in both left and right for my shoes along with the NIKE FOOTWEAR logos for my BTTF inspired bag. I hope to track down another store with this paint and looking forward to owning a wearable pair of grey MAGs soon.

That looks great! Is that rubber or did you use something like a hard plastic lighting cover?

Whatever it is, your shoes are coming along really nicely. Keep it up.

I'm slightly confused. Are they K-MAGs, Poon shoes or a complete custom job? It looks custom and an awesome job.

By the look of those graphics under the clear soles, he won't be wearing them much, if at all.

I was in a rubber specialist store today getting some foam for my extended collars and didn't see any such item. They had black rubber mats, and the only clear stuff was carpet protectors. Where did you get yours from? Do you have a link to the product in its native form?

View all products of this Co. bad news they only sell to other companies or if you have a E.R.N. number or TAX id number for a small business its crazy how road blocks or put in place just for this shoe nike really had 22years of research to use every hard to find material known to man to make this shoe from fabric to odd paint colors . If the Mona Lisa can be re painted to look exact 100s of times over then so can i with this nike mag build add find all the key materials. im selling my find only case it took over 2an a half months to get these people to send me sample sheets so i must let them go for a good fair price of 63.oo plus S.H. each sheet is 17.98 x by 3 and its almost 60.oo im only making back what i spent on the items but the beauty of it is that i can share this relic find with all you true bttf nike mag builders please feel free to research all ends but you wont be able to find this special custom made grid type that i have ill keep everyone posted on [progress

You actually got this made? I was hoping for an off the shelf item. I am still keen to pour my own, but was thinking if a commercial product was available, I would have to cough up the initial $200+ for my soles. I do need 3 pairs

    hi
was wondering if anyone knows what the material is on the kmag uppers directly after the first layer of pvc/fake leather type?

from what i can see, the first layer is the outer pvc/fake leather which has been glued onto a 1mm layer of very soft fabric, then a 1mm layer of eva foam, then lastly a thin layer of soft inner fabric.

the kmag strap is the same but it omits the eva layer, so its just pvc/then thin soft fabric, then another layer of pvc.
