I have been a member of the 405th for a few years. I found this site a while ago but never got a chance to register, and now I have! I am very excited to be apart of this community and cant wait to help out anyway I can.

I like building props from scratch. A few years ago I started making props from foam poster board (which is pretty cool considering you're supposed to use it for presentations.) I'm slowly leveling up from foam board to Smooth-On stuff, so that's pretty awesome to me.

-Favorite props are Doctor Who, Halo, Star Wars, Star Trek, and various MARVEL costumes. Who am I kidding, I love it all!!!

Here are a few of my props. -If I can get them to show... Sorry they are big, I couldnt get them to size down to save my life...

^Plexiglass Halo Reach Magnum. Free formed scratch build using the "sliced" method. Trigger can be pulled, slide can be cocked.

The Avengers Premier. Made those costumes as well (I'm Spider-Man). It was too hot for the rest of Iron Man to wear his suit

hello i'm Allen,
the real reason i registered on this website is a long story but i shall be brief.

my son is a marvel superhero, R2-D2, power rangers fan, and he came to me and asked about making him a fancy dress costume. he chose the white ranger !!

finding out how to make the helmet was awesome to me at the time. so i found more pep files on other helmets now i'm making more.

so far to date i have the following helmets in pep form.

2x halo master chief mk IV
stormtrooper
crysis
white ranger (completed)
just started on ironman.

but while making these helmets some members of my family said i was "SAD" making them and need to get out more. but on this website i don't get that all you guys are like me... enjoy making props, suit replicas.. helmets etc.
talking on here about pepakura you know what i'm talking about but out here in the real world when i mention pepakura, i get the response as if i'm and alien from another planet !

I'm a costumer and multi-discipline artist, and am slowing adding new techniques to my skill set. Sculpting, molding/casting, and leather work are my current areas of interest, so I'm looking forward to soaking in as much info as I can.

Hi All.. I've been looking at this site for a couple of years now. I'm very envious of all your incredible talents and patience. Although a model builder since childhood I have never built anything like the costumes I see here. I have wanted Clonetrooper armor for years, and I would really love an Iron Man suit mkVI or VII.. When I am able to.. I would love to pay someone to make a suit for me, or if they are nearby.. help me make one of my own. I lack the technical knowledge to produce this on my own. Well I hope I can get to know some of you over time and again, your talents are amazing!

My name is Frank. I have been lurking this site for months using the tips from so many of you to build a MK V/VI for my 10 year old. A lot of your suits come out so amazing. I often wonder ....where do you put all the costumes once they are done? I hope to have that problem in the coming years. This really is an awesome hobby to learn.
A little bit about me....I am a 40+ year old man. I have a little bit of painting and drawing experience. My interests are Warcraft, movies with lots of special effects, cooking, and trying to (but failing) learn the guitar. I have a crazy daughter who has given me nothing but joy ever since her birth. Although I do not have the superhero build to make a suit look really good, my daughter does. So I have decided to build my first suit for her and see where it goes from there.

My name is Joshua and I stumbled onto this fabulous website while looking for some information on building/crafting cosplay armor. This past August (2012) I went to my first ever con (Dragoncon) and I was so smitten with the amount of people who dress up as their favorite characters I knew I had to be involved. So at 28 I've decided to cave to my inner nerd and learn as much as I can about crafting armor and hopefully meeting and interacting with the artists who frequent this site.
