Hi all!
Found this site while I was doing some online research.... is cool to find such a large and talented community like this together in one place.
Have been designing and building props, costume, fx and set pieces for the entertainment industry as a career for many years and recently semi retired.
So refreshing to see the passion for it again in all of you.
Hi, I have a very strong interest in back to the future. This is such a cool site!
Hi all,
Well, I have just registered, but I have browsed the forum a bit beforehand. Since about a year I have been going to fantasy festivals in The Netherlands, and wanted a cooler costume then I used up until now.
Thats why I started on a Iron Man Mark VI build, made by cardstock paper. I do have some questions though, and thats why I thought about joining the forum.
Hi everyone!
Sooooo..... I am totally diving off the deep end here. First major costume project, first time casting ANYTHING, and I've picked a doozy of a project. I'm creating a full-blown Loki costume, helmet, cape, body armor, the works. I've started sculpting the shape of the body armor bits this eve, and will be spending a small fortune on silicone and casting compounds first thing tomorrow morning. I am certain I will make a ton of mistakes, ask a ton of stupid questions, and have a fantastic time along the way. Any and all advice is completely appreciated, very happy to be here!
Cheers,
Terrafovea
Hello everyone!
Been lurking a bit, but finally had a minute to say hi!
My name is Kearstin, I'm also on WPE and SCF, while also being a co-founder for my own boards: The Outfit.
I'm also a fetish model, amateur porn dabbler, and have my own website: www.kearstin.com - Disclaimer: It is NSFW and I will NOT post that content in here and it is ONLY on MY personal sites. <3
I'm a costumer, and dipping slowly into prop making.
I live in the Chicagoland area. Avid social networking user LOL
Here is some of my work!
(belt buckle commissioned)
(weapons borrowed, not mine)
(mask commissioned)
And then I have also made costumes for others:
(Mr Fantastic and sans fire Torch by me, with me pictured as She Hulk also done by me)
Can't wait to get to know a lot of you! I do know some of you already but this forum is the talk of the town! <3

Welcome Kearstin, good to see you here. You have a great lineup of costumes! Look forward to seeing what's next for you.
Hi everyone!
Name's Danielle, Tamiwi on the boards and it's great to be here. RPF was always the definitive site for costume and prop making, and before I got more of a portfolio together it intimidated the crap out of me. Now that I've been working on my own builds and getting some SA costumes together, I'm so ready to be an active part of this very thriving community.
See you all around!
Hello, everyone! :]
I hope to learn from all you awesome people and maybe teach you some things too lol.
Well, I don't think I got a post in this thread. So, I though I'd finally drop at least a 'Hi' since I keep seeing the "AS A NEW MEMBER" blaring me in the face all the time. The site spoofing put me off to even stoping by for quite some time.
I generally don't like to list things I've done but it seems like a little intro is in order.![]()
I've been a more of a Predator specific type but my capabilities are a little more broad. Anyway, my sig has a pic of my Allspark computer case I built. I've participated in last years Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Competition also. My intention is to be more active in this community. Let's see what I can build.

Greetings creative people,
The name is Yves, I'm from North Vancouver, BC, or some people call it Caprica. Yes, I am from the city where just about every sci fi TV series and movies were filmed.
My props began in film school, which was really low budget and basic setup. I'm mostly an editor and sound designer, however I do a lot of storyboard drawing for independent films. For the longest time, I've been building things out of cardboard, due to lack of funds. I don't have a sewing machine, so I only glue or rivet soft parts together. Most of my costumes I am working on now are hard costumes.
Joined the 501st Legion in 2010. Since then I have been busy on my after hours, hanging out with my Dremel and ABS plastic, more than my actual friends.......

I'm also part of a big science fiction community here in Vancouver, especially the Battlestar Galatica group. We've built a cardboard Viper, and had a few members put together some Colonial flight deck mechanic jumpsuits.
Upcoming projects including a scratch build DLT 19 rifle to go with the Sandtrooper and probably a Deadmau5 related costume for Dragon Con.
Oh, did I mentioned I am going to Dragon Con for the first time this year ?
Looking forward to hear you all!

Hi everybody!
I've been reading this tremendous forum quite a few years from now, and I decided to register, show my modest creations, give my opinions and have a good time!
I consider myself as a true motorhead car loving, movie lover, Terminator fan and model car collector/modeller.
There are plenty of interesting threads around here, I will take my time reading and learning, and I will try to give a hand.
I will show my creations now and then, hope you like them. My creations are basically 1:18th scale models but not necessarily will just stick to that. Regards from the Basque Country, Spain!
Not necessarily new but i haven't posted here in the past.
Hey, brand new member here!
My name is Emily and I've been in love with costuming since I was in high school. I've currently only really worked with textiles but recently became interested in jewelry. I am also very curious about armor and leather working though I doubt I will have the funds to start experimenting for a while haha.
A friend linked me to a forum here about the Daenerys Targaryen Qarth dress which we're trying to build. The suggestions in the threads are wonderful and I am looking forward to trying some of them out. I'm really excited to learn from such talented and creative people.
Nice to meet you all!
Hello
I am new to this board and I heard it was a great resource. I am very, very interested in building an ESB Vader. I am not a skilled builder by any means so I am primarily looking for already constructed parts to put this together. Any suggestions feel free to pass them along.
Thanks
Tony
Hello people, Gloucester based newbie (Daryl) here. I'm keen on getting stuck into a new hobby and trying my hand at making a foam Buzz Lightyear costume as my first ever project of this nature.
I thought about playing with pep files (because my kids like paper modelling Angry Birds and the like) and thought about having a go at an iron man costume but was so keen to get stuck into a build that I grabbed the kids 12" Buzz doll and decided to dive straight in.
Tips, advice and encouragement will be much appreciated.
Greetings
I am a college student currently deployed to Afghanistan with the National Guard an amateur prop builder with an interest in building Anime/Video Game props and armor. I have only just now realized this as an interest of mine so im quite behind the curve on technique and knowledge and caught word of your forum from a prop builder on facebook i have been following for a few weeks now.
I have however already gotten my hands dirty and created a prop so I wouldnt call me a novice any more. The prop i created was the BRS cannon from the OVA version of Black Rock Shooter. Sadly being as i am stationed overseas right now i dont have any photos of the creation or better ones of the finished product but as a first atempt here it is.
As I said this is a first attempt and under a pretty short deadline too. My girlfriend asked a friend to build her this prop and well needless to say it was a wreck. I offered to build her a better one and it has flaws but I've already figured out how I'm going to rework it once i get home with better lighter materials.
But that is my first prop and I look forward to learning as much as I can from your community!
Hey evryone,
Not that much to begin with, I'm Joao, portuguese but currently living in the UK. I came upon this great community while i was searching for "The Keyring (Fob)" from the mini series The Lost Room. I saw so many talent and decided to join you.
Since i'm still new to this website, does anyone know where i can get "The Keyring" ?
Take care guys.
Hello! My name is Mark, I'm a painter of all things horror (mostly HalloweeN.) My work has been featured on the covers of Fangoria Magazine several times in the last year (exciting.) I hope to set up at my first horror con in the near future. Thank you, regards, Mark.

Hi all,
Like a lot of other people, previously I have observed rather than comment. I'm 33 from the UK, I own a toys, action figures & collectables store and through connections with costuming clubs have gotten a real interest in cosplay.
I'm interested in picking up tips from fellow members and maybe try my hand at creating some of the amazing costumes that have been showcased in this forum. Some of the items, yes I have thought would look great for promotional purposes within the store. - another reason for taking more of an interest within the forum.
If I can share any knowledge with the group then great - but that seems unlikely judging by the quality of amazing costumes showcased here
Just wanted to say hello! I'm new to costuming and have been intrigued by foam pep work. Hope to learn some new skills and meet some cool peeps.
