My name is Dustin. Im originally from Wisconsin, but due to the military moving me around all the time I am currently in Okinawa Japan for the next 2 years. Im a huge nerd, but never really got into costume making. But i think its a good time to start, so i plan on trying my first one within the next month. Went to Avengers yesterday and the hypomania kicked in, and I HAVE to build an Iron Man costume. Found this place googling around.
I have downtime from sports for several months because of recent surgery so it's a great time to get started.
Running out today to pick up paper and knives to start building.
It looks like people have done some awesome work creating models and I'm really chuffed to do this.

I stumbled upon this site when I was searching for tutorials and costume help for a costume I've been debating making. I actually found more than I was looking for here in various threads, and was pleasantly surprised since I'd never heard of this site before. I see a lot of help mostly with props, which is what I need help with the most. Sewing I have a bit of experience with at least, but not prop-making, so needless to say I want to make the most of this lovely resource here. It's great to see how many people share their costume and prop-making experiences and knowledge on here!

My name is James, I've been making models for about twenty years, mostly wargames stuff then later WWII kits. Recently moved onto Sci-Fi stuff. Surprisingly despite being an obsessive Trek fan I've never built any Trek kits so I'm jumping in with both feet, despite being pretty poor at modelling.

Okay, first things first..
Im Mark Celtic, from the Philippines.. Im just 16 yrs.old, I am a Cosplayer and a Costume maker.. I love making crafts out of cheap materials like craft foams, cardboards, paper mache etc. and make the costume details as accurate and detailed as possible with the help of my Dad... Some of my favorite costume to work on are Creatures, Creatures are so awesome to make although its a bit difficult cause the materials that I use are not like those materials in the other countries (ie. Liquid Latex, Fiber Glass, etc.) as I said I only work on craft foams and other cheap materials also, I am very very very inspired to The Legend Stan Winston who made me turn into something different.. I mean Stan Winston changed me and made me express my talents by sharing his works internationally, You know what I mean

Mazinkaiser and Venus ace from the anime series "Mazinkaiser".. Ghost Rider and many many more in our website at Celtics Lair...

I am extremely new to this. I am a graduating IT student finally after serving in the ARNG for 6 years. I am also a working contractor and do a few rentals for extra on the side. I have watched hours on the pepakura building and I believe it may be right up my ally. This looks very enjoyable and it also looks like a community that is more confidence building oriented than judgmental. I can't wait to try a project. And the work people put in on these is absolutely astounding!!

A friend of mine pulled me towards the RPF ... lured me in with Mass Effect replica's.
About me, during the weekdays I'm a software engineer, weekend are filled with troops for Rebel Legion quite often (I'm with Benelux Base) so the only things I really have is a custom built lightsaber with Jedi costume and a full Republic Fleet Trooper outfit.
At the moment I'm working on a clone armor (327th Star corps), soon (hopefully) and M8 Avenger Rifle and an old VW bug.
I'm from Northern Belgium, so I speak Flemish natively, English and I'm studying Japanese

Hey everyone. I've been on the RPF for a little while, first as a lurker, than posting my first costume, Smallville Green Arrow for Draconcon 2011. Really enjoying the cosplay and costuming I see here.
Hello RPF! I've been a long time lurker and decided to finally become a member. While I don't make costumes myself, I do enjoy cosplaying and showing off others' hard work and skill.
As of now I cosplay as the Green Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. My costume, minus the body suit, was made by Aniki Cosplay and the body suit was made by 007halu on Rangerboard.
Here I am in the costume with a putty. I need to have the thighs of the suit taken in, I guess I either measured wrong or he made them too big.
I have commissioned a prop maker called Jtoku to build me Ryo Sanada's Armor of Inferno from Ronin Warriors. I'm hoping it will be done in time to wear it to PAX Prime this year.
While I do not make costumes or props yet, I think I may start a basic creation this year of trying to make a fairly accurate Scarlet Spider or Symbiote Spiderman.
Anyways, glad to be part of the forum and love everyones work I've seen on here so far. Great inspiration for sure.

My name is ACEHIGHWAY as you can see and I love to make short films. In my short films I like to use props that I make. And in an effort to become a better prop builder I joined this forum. I might, if people are interested, post a build that I did of a RPG-7. After long Google searches I couldn't find a tutorial for one. So I made it from reference pics. My name's Kris, I live in Scotland and just the other day i decided i wanted to get into costume building. After watching some videos by TheHeroTutorials on youtube, i decided i would try and make an Iron Man costume using pepakura and foam. I am yet to decide which model i'm going to make as i love the Mk 6 but the Mk 3 and 4 have a more "Classic Look" to them.
I would like to have it done by Halloween but if it takes longer than that i dont mind. I would also like to make a Fiberglass helmet with the Electric lifting faceplate but i have no chance if i try it on my own which is why i joined The RPF! Hopefully with the help of the amazing people on here i can accomplish something amazing.

Initially I was looking for information on life-casting, claysculpting and molding so that I could start that up, but also got interested in pepakura... gotta start somewhere and at the moment working in paper fits my apartment better

My name is Marcus, living in Sweden in a city close to Gothenburg. Swedish larping is pretty hardcore and high-standard on the gear, clothes and such and thats what initially brought me here. I am finding good help just browsing the forum and am looking forward on feedback on my first project wich will be an Ironman helmet.
Not new exactly but my login says the last time I was here was 10-24-2005. Any old-timers still here that remember that time? It got a bit unpleasant and I walked away. I was in my basement this weekend and came across my half-made proton pack and thought I'd see what was going on here. I hadn't built a prop in years but recently just finished a couple of SW blasters and Mal's gun from Firefly. I like having a few props around in my geek-cave but I don't have room or time for anything massive these days.
I was born in Blackburn, England but have lived in San Francisco since the mid-90's and I work in Silicon Valley.
