Very Nice... Very, Very nice. I'm glad someone tackled this. This ,ask would look great as part of a Vader mask definitive collection in a glass case....

    Great work!!!

When I joined the RPF, I had intentions of only building one kind of lightsaber, but now I truly want one of those helmets .

    What would be REALLY cool...

Having one of these, and one of these:

To go with my ANH and ESB helmets...

    PM sent on this one.

Does anyone know who was working on this other concept helmet? I lost track a year or so back when they were posting progress pics...

Not my personal cup of tea but it looks like made an almost perfect representation of the original art work. Great job.

Thanks a lot all of you ... wow - I'm overwhelmed by all those sweet comments ... - thanks !!!

A few answers to some of your questions (sorry if I forgot anything) ...

I'm sorry but I will not sculpt any armor. I did this Helmet as a "trade commission" over 2 years ago,
and after I have not received anything after such a long time, and I recently "ended my friendship" with
this person for personal reasons, I have decided to try and get this thing going on my own now -
It was gathering dust on a shelf here long enough - now it's time that it will finally get made -

About the Construction and size of the Helmet:

The mask and Dome where actually built up onto a bad and very soft old casting of a DP Deluxe that I
bought here in Germany. The entire Original Vader "face" was cut out of the mask and the new face was
sculpted onto the remaining "Skull and neck" of the casting with Super Sculpey.
The Mask-casting was used as a "Frame" to get the correct size and to make it stable. Also it was used
to get the same asymetrics into the CV that the Original had - for the nostalgic Feeling -
Aside from the obvious new face a new neck was added, the upper skull shape was changed, and so on
and so on - so there is nothing of the DP left there, but the Dimensions - just a skull underneath -

The DP Dome was heavily modified, too, and also used to keep the size and Dimensions "true Vader".
All the new stripes, the long widows peak, new eyebrows, center Arrow, shorter and more extended side
flaps and so on where sculpte onto the DP casting Dome, so the Dome has even become a bit "bigger"
than the base I used. Also it is "more rounded" on top now.

So for those who worried about the size - this thing is as big as your other Vader Lids -

Thanks again for all the kind words

    Cheers,

    Jesper

I am ready when you are.

What s the paint job want to be? All black, two toned?

Does someone with photoshop skills want to give those a try.

I would love to see this with brush strokes and a two tone paint job.

Personally, I'd like to see it all gunmetal gray.........that is how I always envisioned the artwork anyway. I'm also seeing some mirrored dark gray lenses. I think this would really make it pop!!!
