Never Ending Story The Book

I think I have found a ebook version.
It is a *.lit file and seems complete
I already sent darthinvictus a PM.

A couple of notes/ideas...
The screen used book doesn't have anything printed on the spine or the back cover. The spine has 4 large horizontal 'lines' (I'm sure they are called something, they are seen on almost every leather-bound book I think...) These are actually folded/pressed into the leather itself, not printed.
Where the Auryn is placed on the book there's a circular indention all around it (like the place it sits is marked by pressing a circle into the leather).
It also has a red and a white strip of cloth/bookmarker attached to it (two different strips).

Ideas:
The movie book is pretty large, how long is the real story? Maybe we could include both the book and the screen play in it?
If there's anyone that wants both an English and German version, we could do the English cover on one side and German on the other... Not really screen accurate, but at least that would put something on the back cover of the book... :)

I love the idea of both the novel and screen play being in the book. At WORST i guess one of us could type the whole thing into a microsoft word file, im kinda putting myself forward for that but if we can find both versions online already then i wont complain ;)

Great progress for one day!!!
We have the script and the book so.... I say both just to make sure there are no blank pages and we get the thickness we want.
Good eye on the spine, I recently made a 9 gates and now have a fetish for them, never noticed the ribbon.
I would guess the book to be 12 x 15 or so
but we could scale it a tad.

I have a couple .pdf to .doc converters, some formating is needed afterwards. And rather then adding both script and story into one book, I'd rather see it done larger print.

so are we thinking leather for the cover? and a close friend of mine has this book with the pictures intact, i will borrow that and check them out... right stormgirl lol
also where can i get the center medallion? i can get it and start making a test cover, also cast it and the other parts in bronze for the final copies...

Irish LOL! I have the paperback version. Irish can borrow it, and see if the pics help. They are all in blk/Wht print.

I just noticed that the hard-cover book forsale on Amazon is 384 pages... I guess it's a pretty big book after all, so it should fill out nicely... :cool

I had never read the book before, and was afraid it might only be 50 pages or something.

BTW, everyone look for their local library online... Some of them have some books available for download... Might be able to find it there.

Right everyone the mission is to find the story online! Its been a long and hard road but we can do i....hold on its been like 5 hrs since this thread really started :lol

I have the story in digital format.
No problem at all there.
I do not know your source for bronze casting.... but i have a jewelery shop here and can produce a solid bronze auryn for less than 10.00
and prototyping equiptment to make the corners as well
I fugure the metal for the book should come to 25.00 or so total.
It would be nice to keep the costs down as low as possible.

i have been doing the casting here, but i would need at least resin versions of them to make the cover...

I think we were hoping Vash would step in an offer one... :cool His wife (I believe) custom made one that is actually really nice. There's a shot of it here:

I'm not sure how big it is compared to the screen used book (and if it would be too big/small for whatever size is decided on for the replica book...)

The book one is one color, like a solid piece of bronze, and does not have stones in the snake's eyes.

I sent an offer to vash a short time ago but have not heard back.
Still it has not been that long and I have high hopes.
It would be nice to have a set of credits to go with what could be a really groovy book.
Plus i have some of their work and it is top notch.

If I made the Auryn myself, I'd be happy to let you guys use it for this project.
However, my wife sculpted this, so I'll have to see if she's willing to join in on the book.
She was mighty upset when folks started recasting her Auryn a while back, so she's really possessive/protective of having others cast it.
But I'm sure I can persuade her ;)

As for myself, I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

By the way, when the designing of the book pages gets underway, don't forget the snake borders on the top and bottom of each page.
I believe the image in the middle of the top page is the page number, while the bottom is a circular design.
In addition, the edges of the book pages are rough cut.

Like I mentioned, I'd love to get one of these books myself :D

good pic... and i dont think it will be hard to add the pages, and have it printed on the rough pages...
i started layong out the cover, but what colors do we think it is... i thought red...
the pic that vash just posted looks yellow... hmmm..
hey vash did you wife also do the corner spots?

Here's another photo of the book. I think it's just a light-brown colored leather...

You can also see the red and white bookmark strips coming out of the bottom of it...
