My Thor Mjolnir hammer project begins.... maybe making an upgrade part available also

My thor Mjolnir hamme project begins. I am starting with the Disguise hammer, as it is the most accurate available piece to go by. I am replacing the handle, and the capstone with something more accurate. I machined the top part from 303 stainless, and will be molding the whole thing so I can make it from aluminum powder filled resin. I think the cap stone came out well. This is stainless steel, and I will need to sand the face a little to make it more smooth. Someone here helped me with the CAD drawing on this part, but I dont know if he wants me to throw his name out there...... There is a step down so it will fit tight in the plastic hammer while being molded, as well as a shaft that is threaded so I could actually use the stainless cap on a solid resin hammer head and connect it to a machined stainless handle. Ideas ideas ideas......

Of course the ends need filled, and primed to get rid of the mold line. I still have a slight wave in the ends, but the plastic was thin, and wavy, and it wasnt going to get any better.

I am planning to make a whole new handle, from a wooden doll rod, with foam trimmed and glued around the handle to make the rings as seen on the avengers style hammer. I will mold that and cast the handle in aluminum powder filled resin. Then I will machine the pommel and the ring at the top of the handle where it meets the hammer head. Getting the rings exact wont happen, so I will approximate it. I dont want it to be exact, as I like to have a little artistic flare in all my work.

I was thinking about making a mold of the machined cap in the above picture, and casting some aluminum powder filled resin pieces for those that might want to upgrade their Disguise hammer, or for anyone working on a custom. What do you think?

Love the idea for the cap! That is the only part of my hammer I wasn't able to fix

I'll throw some silicone on it and mold a few caps probably. Now that I am done machining the cap casting it will be cake.

Snap but for myself that cap stone would be awesome

looks like im gonna have to pick up a disguise hammer, shame there are none on this side of the pond tho, more for shippin than the hammer price grrr

just to check. i am looking at a ordering a disguise right now and some feedback says it is more like 10" in length instead of the 16" the seller info says. have seen this on a few disguise feedbacks can anyone confirm this?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the wrinkle is that there are actually 2 sizes available (child & adult), you just need to be sure which one you're getting...

Yes I also believe there are 2 sizes. I have the adult version. The shape and size are very good. The handle is junk and the cap was way too small hence my upgrade. Looking for a good deal on silicone now. Chemistrystore.com has gallon kit of smooth on oomoo30 cheap so ill order that and start working on making a mold of the whole head..

Silicone just got here. Still have to build the box and get pouring. I'm going to supply place tomorrow for recommendations on resin urethane and aluminum powder so it will look more silver live on avengers. I'll make a quick mold of the cap by itself for anyone that wants one. I'll post in the jy when I have some pieces up for grabs

I will make a small mold so I can cast a few caps for people wanting to use then on their custom hammers too. Should be a cheap part.

awesome man my hammer arrived today and i can see why you remade the part.. whats the diameter of your cap stone also did you just place it over the top of the original or cut/ sand the original out?
