    Apr 26, 2010 - My Indy collection #1

I haven't done a thread like this in QUITE a while. I was bored, so I thought why not. My first Indy prop was aquired the very end of February this year, and to date, here's where I am. Not bad, huh

I'm happy to list where I picked each piece up if anyone is interested. The idol is the Sideshow. For the money, you really can't go wrong with that one. The Grail is AMAZING, however due to the crappy lighting in the room, the pictures just don't do it justice. The white weathering is WAY more muted than in the pics. And OMG...this grail diary...worth every blooming penny I spent. Both look as if they came right off the screen. Ra head piece is nicely weathered, but you can't tell because, again...lighting. The sankara cloth (from Barnett College)...funny story. It was packed on a black photo card in a baggie when I opened the envelope, and at first I thought it was just the picture of the real deal. I kept looking for it in the envelope (which he also sent a prop photo reference cd) and was getting a little concerned since I couldn't find it It's truly a piece of art. Sankara stones do light up. Needless to say, I'm INCREDIBLY happy with every piece.

I do have a 10' whip, fadora, and sand bag on order. They're just not here yet. I'd LOVE to get one of Rook's Webleys...still have my fingers crossed for that one. I'd also like to get a coin pouch and good antidote phial...just waiting for someone to make an accurate cap though. Other than that, and a crystal skull a friend of mine is currently working on, my Indy collection will be finished

Soooo...Jeff. You saw the idol and it was all downhill from there? I can't believe all the stuff you aquired in such a short period of time. My collection is pretty extensive and I've been working on it for 4 years! Well done!

Very nice collection! I sold my MK idol years ago and just ordered the sideshow piece to rebuild my collection of Indy stuff. Out of curiosity, does your idol have a small dent on one of the breasts? I read on another forum that several people idol's had a small dent in the exact same spot. See photos:

Thank you my friend! Like I said, I ordered that Idol as I was standing in front of yours It was really a trifecta of events...(1) the wife wanted to watch all 4 Indy movies in a row since we haven't seen them in a long time (2)seeing your SS idol at the party, and (3) seeing Brenton's fraking cross of coranado All that happened within a week of each other (2 and 3 the same day). I basiclly reaped the benefits of everyone's hard work and discoveries over the last few years. Thank yall for that

Thank you sir I have a very small, shallow divot, not even noticeable really unless you rub your finger nail over it. Nothing like what's in the picture. Headpiece I got from 'replicaprops' here on the board. Great piece, and great guy to work with. I asked if he'd polish off the jewel's chrome backs so I could see through it and also had him leave jewels out so I could paint the metal in between the jewels black to darken up the look like the original. At frist I painted the back with a translucent red paint (think paint used to making fake stained glass projects), but all that did was make the jewels look red all over (oddly enough). So just went with them amber and it looked right after the metal was black. The grail I got from Restaurajones over at Club Obi-Wan. AWESOME guy, and I can't say enough good things about the grail.

I was very luck to get in the last part of azuma's run of those stones. Picked up all three versions. They are uber awesome
