    May 10, 2010 - Museum Replicas' Braveheart / William Wallace Sword #1

Looks like Museum Replicas is releasing a licensed version of William Wallace's sword from Braveheart. To me, the little details don't seem to be accurate (e.g., the pommel seems to fancy, hilt seem too "clean"), but can anyone who's done more research chime in with any criticisms?

The movie sword is different. The end of the pommel should have a nipple style to it not a stem and the hilt should be quilions looks like crosses, most all knock offs get hose 2 parts wrong. Marto put out the only one I've seen that matches the film version.....

Also there shouldn't be any file work of the hilt....

Did you read the description? Museum Replicas like to use the kind of wording that licence holders love! :P

This is an original screen-used sword at Planet Hollywood Paris, I think it’s a stunt version.

The Sideshow sword looks to fancy and clean, and it also looks a bit shorter than the movie sword.
The Wallace sword looks pretty easy to build from scratch, it would probably be a lot cheaper to build one from scratch.

Notice also the sword in the movie does not match the sword in the front of the DVD case:
