Apr 27, 2009 - MR Darth Maul Coupler device compatibility? #1

Hi guys,

Is the coupler that comes with MR DM's LS compatible with the rest of MR LSs?

So can we have a double bladed windu, double bladed obi, ani, or whoeverelse??

Well, I just tried using the coupler on the Anakin RotS saber, and is didn't come anywhere close to fitting.

Unfortunately, those are the only 2 FX sabers I own, so I can't say it'll be the same for the others. However, if I had to guess, I'd say it's most likely not going to work on any of the others either.

I seem to remember seeing someone make a double vader once but I can't find any pics of it now. Also, I have no idea if he was using 1st or 2nd gen Vaders

The Yoda is the only one that is compatible and that is only somewhat.
It fits but only to a point - you still see leftover threads on the coupler.

I'll try to find a pic/take one for you later.

You affirm the yoda is the only one... because you tested all? because its well known? because its said somewhere (forum) else?

Thanks Son!

The double Vader's were a seperate coupler that was being sold on ebay. The other FX sabers are too big for the Maul coupler.

Someone used to make couplers on ebay for the various sabers. Go to force-fx.com and ask around.

I've searched everywhere and I can't find the double-bladed Yoda pics - I'll keep looking though.

Yes, the Yoda is the only *ONE that's fits w/o modification. I've had friends confirm it and I've tested every saber except for the Luke ANH (but it doesn't have the right thread setup to begin with).

*Now there is the Construction kit but it only accepts a couple threads(around an 1/8'') from the Maul coupler. It's not duel worthy and looks hideous.

However with some modification(cutting off some threads and sanding the rest down) the coupler could be made to fit better and possibly be duel worthy.
