Mjolnir Hammer from Juicebox!

Long time crafter, first time poster!

My son was quite taken with the Avengers movie (as was I) and asked me to make him Thor's hammer. We went to the dollar store and bought some dowls and I picked up some suede strips from Micheals.

I found the the box that the juice packets come in was a good size for Mjolnir, so punched a hole in the bottom, I glued the dowels together to make something thicker, and pushed them through the bottom of the box. I crammed the empty box full of plastic bags to make it more solid, and made sure to glue the dowels inside so that the handle wouldn't wiggle, then I hot glued the leather strips on, placed a circle of cardboard on top then painted it grey with hints of silver.

The thing has a really nice heft to it (but won't damage most surfaces) and has held up to quite a bit of rough housing.

I'd love to see other hammers that you guys have made.

Nice work. if only I had had that as a kid.one of the things I' most excited about for when I'm married and have kids is making stuff for them.
