Jun 25, 2012 - Millennium Falcon Nav Computer: Part Identification #1

Hello all, I am looking for a little help with a big project. I need to identify all the parts (well at least those that can't be easily re-created) of the Falcon Nav Console. This build will not take place for a few months, but I would like to start getting parts in order, in the event that some may be expensive or difficult to create.

If anyone has any additional screen captures (maybe blu-ray captures?) that would be helpful as well.

I have included the images I have available now, to get us started.

Thanks in advance for all of your help, this should be a great project!!!

    Hey B,

Like the cockpit console, the designers used a Mitchel Matte Box. It was used as a screen in ANH but later filled with greeblies for ESB. I also see a familiar Vickers reading light in the first pic.

Also, the first pic shows what I think might be "velocity stacks". I'll keep looking!

SK, that website has great photos, thanks.

    - anyone else have any suggestions or recognize any specific parts? It would be great to get this as close to screen accurate as possible. thanks

    Hey F,

    I've used that site extensively!

I believe the greeblie in the upper rt corner of the NavComp is a piece to a camera. Not sure what kind, make, model, etc... But I was looking at old vintage camera parts on Ebay and saw some things similar

    Hey Fuzz,

On the second and third pics there appears to be a "latch assembly" mounted within the Mitchel Matte box. I was looking through EBay and although i haven't found the exact piece, it appears to be aircraft related... I guess...

Below the mate box and to the rt might be fuel caps?

Also, the fourth pic shows several toggle switches. The ring going around the switch appears to be one side of a banner "eyelet".

A little late to the party but FWIW, the object in the upper right hand corner looks like it may be a head element from an old school overhead projector.
