Maximus Gladiator Helmet Pepakura

Hey guys! My second build log here! This was the helmet that I originally wanted to start learning the whole pepakura process on but couldn't find the files until yesterday. Big thanks to mikey123mushukl who hooked it up with the pepakura files. Working on building the helmet now. The general shape is done and I'm working on the accent pieces. The big accents are hollow so I'm gonna fill with expanding foam to give it some more structural stability. This build is going much faster than Iron Man did, should be fiberglassing this afternoon. Let me know what you think!

Where can I get the pepakura files for this helmet??? I've been looking all around without any success... can you help?? Yours seems so neat!

Here's an update. Sorry it took so long! I was headed back to school and have been busy. Unfortunately, I won't be able to work on it for several months but here's the progress!

I filled the hollow cavities in the mask with filler foam to give them some more structural support. I filled the spikes with filler foam too for support and so they would be easier to attach.

I coated the mask in fiberglass and started applying bondo.

Got lots more work to do but, unfortunately, it will have to wait!

First post here. I wanted to thank you guys (h2opolo13) for posting the pep file for this. I'd never attempted to make any costume stuff previously, but I found myself needing a gladiator helmet to wear for a few mud races this year and your file worked perfect. I've attached a few shots of the finished product. Not screen accurate but close enough for a first go-around.

I'm an RC aviation guy so I stuck to the composites that I know... instead of paper I used a 3mm depron foam for the base, glased inside and out, bondo to fill the weave and add strength, and miliput for sculpting some of the facial features. Since I'm going to be wearing it for races I added carbon-fiber to the fangs, the crest, and around the nose. The helmet should take a hell of a beating now.

I've also ordered removeable foam padding from a lacross style helmet that I'll used to get the fit just right. Should help it breath well during the race and make it easy to clean afterward.

My airbrush and painting gear is in storage until after a move next month, so paint was just rattle-can "hammered" rustoleum over a base coat of stainless steel paint. I wish I had more time to get it looking just right and smooth out some rough spots, but for a first try I'm happy with it. I'm thinking I'll give the 300 helmet a shot next.
