Makeup & Effects Lab Prop Party April 16 N. Hollywood

I wish I could make it, but that is the same date as the Long Beach Grand Prix race that I will be attending.

If the date changes I'd love to go.

That's close for me, I'd try to make that.

TymerDC was mentioning this to me yesterday when I took his kids out for ice cream in Herbie... If you can nail down the date I'll see if I can make it with Herbie or the Bond BMW, but I just made plans today to do a large amount of construction on my house that weekend.

Also, if there is interest in getting any of the other movie cars to attend from the last SoCal prop party we need at least 4-6 weeks notice - our event calendar is pretty full on most of the weekends between now and November!

The date is now set, it will be on April 16th. We're thinking of 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Hollywood Treasures will be here to shoot some elements for an episode of their series.

I'll be bringing my full size replica of Robby and I'll have some other bits as well. I also have parts for a full size George Pal Time Machine here.

The shop has several pieces we've worked on in the past on display in the main shop.

Brian ..if nothing else just bring yourself..you know your welcome.

Guys...we need to know if anyone is going and if you need food provided. We were thinking Hamburgers which would be a small charge. I just got wind of this and am now scrambling to see if there is any interest.....please PM me or Don.

Apone might be there if hes not on location somewhere. As far as Doug..I'll have to ask. Dave I'll be calling and inviting.....don't know yet if hes going.

Parking lot is on the small side (unless they have moved) so you may need to park on the street.

Jeff....they have since bought out the adjoining buildings on the lot so there's more parking.....depending on how many show up there is weather anyone would have to park on the street or not.

As Dennis mentioned, MEL has taken over the entire complex now and all the parking. With some stacked parking I think we can handle 30+ cars in the lot.

Doug Barnett has been running a Quaker church in downtown LA for the last 15 years or so. Somewhere near the Shrine Auditorium.

I know this is short notice but we had to fit into the production schedule of Hollywood Treasures. They will be sending a small crew to film some elements, they will not be staying the entire day. I'll try to find out what time they will be there so you can plan to be there or not when they are.

Will Robby be there?

Since MEL is just down the street from HMS where the part 2 sale is on the same day it makes it an easy day trip to LA.

I think folks may be confused since you are holding it at a prop house.

Are we supposed to bring our stuff for display as well, like D&B last month, or is this to show of MEL's new facility, and their stuff for Syfi?

Will there be table space? food? drinks for sale? What should we bring?

Argh!!! Wish I was staying in LA through next weekend.

God I wish I could make it but I won't be moved out to LA until next month.

The plan is that it's much the same as the party you guys had at D&B last month.

The party is not intended to be a show off for our facility, it's just that now we have suffiecient space to throw a party. When I heard that Hollywood Treasures was unable to come to the party in March because they couldn't get permission to shoot there I thought we don't have that problem and thought maybe we could get them to come here for a similar event. HT will be returning in a week or so to do some additional filming to promote us but that is not the intent the day of the party.

Thank s Brian for some needed feedback. We can have drinks available and I can see if I can persuade one of our guys to grill some hamburgers, there would be a nominal charge to cover costs only.

We have several small work tables which can be used for displays and we have 4 or 5 empty shelf units, five shelves high for use as well.
