I have about 100 throwing knives that I want to display. Has anyone ever made a cool knife display before?
I was thinking magnets so the knives could be easily removed. I also thought of peg board but that looks kind of cheap.
Any ideas welcome.

Well, you know how much I love edged weapons, so...
You could use a wood base, covered with somethink (like alcantara or faux/real leather) and put the strong magnets BEHIND the cover, and then add a frame of some sort...
I did something similar for my airsoft guns (see pic), but without the frame (for the moment) and the magnets (I used nails)

Cool! I have an idea but I have to draw it out first. The magnet thing might work but I need to get a few to test it. I heard that Hard Drive Magnets are good.

Hard drive magnets are very powerful. In fact, they are strong enough that over time they will start to pull themselves to pieces if you stick a couple of them together. They're an odd shape, though, and they can also be somewhat of a pain to extract without tearing them up. I'd think it would be tough to come up with 100 of them.
Lee Valley carries a nice selection of rare earth magnets and corresponding magnet cups. You might check those out.
Wow! Those cup magnets seem to be a good idea. Each knife ways less than a pound so it wouldn't cost much for a full set up.
Thanks

I have a small display cabinet that has a sort of shadow box on top. You lift the lid up which has glass in it and just set down whatever you want inside.
It's a cabinet, display and coffee table all in one.
Some people make glass display cases for their knives. I know there are guys who make this to order, and you can specify a bunch of things.
Kind of like these.

Thanks for the ideas. I have 2 ideas so far. The magnet one and a wooden piece with slots so the knives can rest in them. Does anyone know if the magnets effect the metal in the knives at all?
Here's a pic of some of the knives to give you an idea of the size and shape of them. (The knives in the top photo won't be displayed!)
