So, doing the usual casual search on e-bay tonight and found a prop ID that I created from scratch based on some original reference photos being sold by someone else as his work! Even the "tells" I have in the prop give it away. So now I finally know how it is to be ripped by someone selling your work as thier own. Grrrrrrrr.......
For those of you seasoned pros out there, what would your course of action be?

Not a lot you can do.Email the seller and ask if they can stop selling your work?
Put a link here and 'out' them?
Unfortunately if you've ever shared your ID images anywhere then some people would think they are fair game. Not nice.

You can out them if you have evidence, but if they are not a member here, that probably won't do you much good.
But it might help you feel better.
And if you can, sell one yourself at a lower cost...undermine the profit of the ones he's selling.
recasting is a problem but as stated email the bidders and sell at a lower cost. is this right ? but it will make you feel good.
Give his Ebay name here and if you prove this person to have recast your stuff then people should block him as a seller they would use on Ebay.

That will get you in more trouble with Ebay than the recaster ever would. I've seen people lose their accounts if any of the bidders report you to Ebay. Don't contact them, just make a listing with all the same keywords and you'll end up getting most of his buyers anyway.
I had the same issue with the Batman Begins Joker card I created as a free Paper Prop. Some "enterprising" individual took it upon themselves to sell poorly printed copies on ebay. Even though the artwork for this particular pieces was created by me (which supposedly gives a certain amount of copyrights, especially since it doe NOT use any Batman specific property) ebay did not care unless I was a representative of Warner Bros, and would not pull the auctions (5 or 6 going on at that time). Contacting the Seller through ebay was useless as well, they just ignored me.
I'm going to have to go through my transaction records, but I believe this guy actually got the prop from me by buying one of the 2 sets I had to sell. Even so, it still doesn't give him the right to take the work and turn around and sell copies of it. Thanks for all the advice!
