i have a jango fett blaster cast in solid resin. the basic story is that a friend gave me it because i wanted a project to try out some painting.
i foun dit in his basment in a random junk box, he didnt cast it, and has no idea where it came from. his guess is that it was part of a collection he bought as stock for his business, and he chucked it in that random box while sorting the valueable from the junk.
so heres the question. after doing a bit of research, i have reason to believe its a recast of a rubies or similar costume piece. now my plan originally was to paint it as an easy project, and then sell it in order to fund other hobbie material.
so my question is this. the item is a recast, but i didnt recast it and innocently want to sell it in order to pay for meterials for my next project.
where do i stand in this? does that make me a recast supporter? would you guys hypothetically buy something that you knew to be a recast IF there was an honest story behind it? or are recasts an outright wrong no matter how oblivious the seller is to it.
im new to this and this area fascinates me.
