How to paint a boba fett helmet

Love How-to videos. Even when I know how to do something, it's always nice to see other people's nuances, and the finished helmet you showed in the first video looked very good. Look forward to seeing more.

I'll be watching. I've had a Fett helmet almost 2 years now but never started on it because of the painting. I'm a pretty good painter, and skilled in masking, but the Fett paint job intimidates the heck out of me. I want to get it 'right', so any tips/tricks to save me first-time mistakes would be great.

Right there with ya, James. I have a Fang V2 and want to cut off the ears and get better before I start painting this beasty.

Im uploading another one now, and ive got the workshop to myself tomorrow to start the cutting work on the helmet. If there is anything in particular you want to see let me know, but I should be covering most things.

Subcribed .....will be looking for tips and tricks. I've painted a few of these but can't wait to see how you handle the scratches and damage. The videos are great, thanks for putting them together.

Thanks guys, helmets are all finished, prepped and ready for paint. Ive got to sort out the videos but there will be a few going up in the next few days covering the prep work. Glad you guys think this is a good idea.

I think that's what scared me as well...

I've never paid Fett an awful lot of mind but I have a Don Post lifesize Boba Fett I'd like to replace with a more screen-accurate version eventually. It's one of those things that's more back burner than anything else but a tutorial will definitely come in handy down the road. Thanks for taking the time!

Wow thanks guys, im in the process of uploading some better videos than just talking and washing now lol. Got a how to remove the visor one uploading now and a few more prep videos all filmed.
Come on though guys Ive got 500 odd views from this thread alone but only 12 subscribers, hit that button for me... and fett lol. Im off to do a proper special effects degree in a few months so will be uploading a lot more tutorials and projects, so its not going to be just fett.

Hey guys thought I would bump this up for the last time for folks who havent seen it yet. Getting into the better stages of the build now, with cutting the visor video uploaded and I am in the process of uploading how to attach the ears.

Helmets are prepped and ready for paint so wont be long till I show how to paint one of these up. Im also going to try and do some review videos of the stuff I have, with the first being a RS props TK helmet.

Hey guys, Thought I would give this a little bump for folks that have not seen it yet and have a helmet sitting around. What with all the new GMH helmets starting to arrive at peoples doorsteps thought this could be handy for people new to the painting scene.

We are well into the paint job now so theres a lot of more videos and substance to them to enjoy, and I like to think im getting better with each video. It would mean a lot if you subscribed, im hoping to have more than just fett stuff as well soon.

I watched all these last night, and all I can say is they are great! You really take us step by step in a methodical and logical manner. I like the way you break the painting down into (fairly) manageable sections.

Will you be going into the topical and weathering soon? Also I'm not sure where to source the (wax?) transfer paper you use to trace the outlines to the helmet (maybe I missed it).

Keep up the good work, and thanks for doing these videos!

Just started watching them they are awesome dude this is what iv been waiting for, always wanted to try paint my own fett helmet just did have it in me seeing my painting skills are well not there lol

The weathering will probably be the last video, but the topical parts will be coming up soon. Though they are far more easier than airbrushing or stenciling. The transfer paper in the UK is known as wax paper, over in the states I believe its called graphite paper. It took me ages to find it to as I was asking around for graphite paper.
