    IF ANY OF YOU ARE JOINING THIS THREAD FOR THE FIRST TIME:

    This was originally a thread seeing who wanted to come over to my place and help build but I'm converting it to a build thread for my HIC. There will still be build days which I'll post in the title but otherwise enjoy the read!



    Our friend Skyler101 is visiting from the Wonderful land of OZ!

    So on Sunday, March 18th 2012 I'm inviting anyone who would like to join us to come over and work on a Han in Carbonite display with us!

    I currently have the Stormrider Han pieces like this set:

    As well as 8 resin castings of the Volvo panels.

    The goal of the day is to see how far we can get building the box and perhaps working on the panels! If we can get far enough I might even be able to bring a FINISHED HIC to the Toronto Prop Party!

    I figure a 9am start (although feel free to drop by whenever you can) and I'll be providing the supplies as well as pizza & beer.

    So, who's up for some prop building? PM me for my address.

    I'd bring my router, but its in Oz, and runs at 220...

    I've got a router, but the only bits I have are the dirt cheap Canadian Tire ones that don't cut well AT ALL.

    Time to buy a nice flush trimming bit I guess! There's the potential of one other person joining us, I've got to get some plans together now! I've had the online plans on my PC for a while, gotta dissect them.

    Allright!

    Big shout out to Orange Blend, who was kind enough to let me play in his backyard, and help with the construction of his HIC!

    I had a blast, and those who missed out, missed out BIG TIME!

    We got the HIC box 3/4 done, and it should be done with another afternoons work! I want my own, but I don't think I will be able to take it aboard a plane back to Oz as HAND LUGGAGE!

    THanks OB.. Looking forward to doing it again soon!

    Did you get the right height? (we were talking about that at the XMas party)

    And as an aside, did you know Harrison Ford is 4ft tall?

    In Raiders, when Indy goes to the old man to read the inscriptions, he says 6 kadams (Sulla said that is 72"), and take away one kadam, so that makes it 60" or 5ft.



    And there it is taller than Indy, so there you go. Harrison Ford is 4ft tall.

    And here are some pics, as promised!

    Here we are at the start of the day.... Han on some concrete! he needs a home!



    First stop... Some plywood backing for Han to sit on. I'm looking forward to pouring resin on the wood to texture the frozen "carbonate" look!



    After all that hard work, we took a break, and headed down to Orange Blend's prop room. Look at all the shiny things! Had to do my cool "well, I'm not Indy, but I have the idol" pose!



    Then, I saw a thing of wonder... And I had to hold it close! Think I can work at Stark Industries and have a play?



    Why work, just play! All I need are some Repulsors, and I'm in business!
    (Serious note, I really want one of these! If anyone ways to part with theirs, please let me know!)



    Am I a happy boy.... You tell me!




    We wanted to check the sizing on the box, and needed a stand in! OB jumped at the chance. I was trying to get compensation from the Empire. He came out damaged!




    After playing around, we headed back out to do some of the hard work!
    Skyler likes to concentrate when he's using a jigsaw!



    Here's OB having some fun with his new Router... Once we made the templates, it was smooth work!



    I asked OB if he was happy with the work we did today? This was his answer!





    Great day... Its going to be fun to finish this project off!
