its worn by the character john stillman on CBS's "Cold Case". the character served in the navy, and it kindof looks like the navy logo to me.... but if anyone could help me identify/find this pin, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

It almost looks like a U.S. Army Special Forces crest pin with a 5th Special Forces Group Vietnam flash...
...but the pin just doesn't quite match up.
I would agree with Montagar. Definetly Green Beret
come to think of it, i could be wrong that it was navy he was in... green beret's would make sense, and thats exactly what it looks like compaed to those photos you posted. now if i could just find THAT pin, i'd be golden.
thanks for the info.
It looks like a variant of the delta force unit logo in shape and layout. the edging is the same too.

Looks like a pin version of this: http://www.flyingtigerssurplus.com/b...gid-14151.html
If he's ex SEAL then why would he wear an Army SF insignia ?
as i said, *I* was the one who said navy, not the show. i said i could have interpreted it wrong. since they never actually said which branch of service on the show.
and cold case is a lot more clever than most of the crap thats on the tube now.
Looks Marines to me. Crimson background, and I'm pretty sure I see the globe and right side of the anchor.
It's definately the 5th SFG Vietnam patch (black colored normally) but I'm not sure for the Special Forces crest !!!
The metallic crest seems to be a dagger pointing towards the sky, with wings on left and right, certainly a motto at bottom and some kind of laurels on the top....perhaps a USAF crest....We need a better pic.
