Help identifying Waterworld Gun

Hey folks, I've always wanted to build one of these, beat up props are so refreshing to build.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what gun was used as a base, I think it's a beretta but I'm not sure, I was never very good with that.

Any insight is appreciated.

The slide does vaguely look "Beretta" like, but not with that safety. My guess is it's on a Taurus PT-92, (Taurus's Beretta clone.)

Good luck!

Re: Help identifying Waterworld Gun

It's Taurus all right. The safety switch is mounted on the frame, vs. Beretta, which has it on the slide. Besides, Taurus is alot cheaper than A genuine beretta.
Just for additional intel,
Waterworld - imfdb :. guns in movies :. movie guns :. the internet movie firearms database
(Some good shots of the gun there, other weapons from the film too)
