    Jul 16, 2012 - Help Identifying Parts on Destroyer Gun from Avengers #1
    Attached is a reference pic of the SHIELD "Destroyer gun" I'm planning to start working on this for my Phil Coulson costume. In the tip of the barrel of the gun is this orangeish clearish plastic looking thing. It looks like something I've seen before, somewhere, but I can't quite place it(I work at UPS and i see lots of strange things fall out of packages). Maybe some type of LED Diffuser? Not sure, any help identifying would be greatly appreciated

    Anything else anybody recognizes would also be helpful, I'm probably going to be making most of this by hand or on my dad's milling machine.

    If you ask me it looks like a clear/orange casting of a 4 cylinder distributor cap from a car or motorcycle engine.

    Maybe just a zoom scope without dot, so you can adjust the dot for different distances? (just guessing here)

    Almost as strange as mounting the scope backwards.

    That thing is too small to be a dist cap. It's like 2" in dia.

    That's why I said "a casting" of a distro cap in my post. There are casting mediums that will shrink the part you are casting. Shrinking a 4" or so distro cap by half wouldn't be a problem.

    Bowel is almost right. 98% of the gun is plastic, cast off of 3D printed parts. The sights are real but had a few little modifications for looks. Screws and some knobs are real. If it wasn't grown it was CNCed in wax or foam.
