    Feb 23, 2011 - Graflex 3-cell flash Parks replicas #1

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering are there any Graflex 3-cell flash Parks replicas with the patient number on the bottom of the Graflex? I see one one Ebay now and I cannot tell if it is a Parks replica or the real thing?? It has the Made By The Flomer Graflex Corp. on the bottom but no serial number. Not sure if it is real or a replica. What I am also getting at is should a Vintage Graflex 3-cell flash for a Luke ANH lightsaber prop replica have the patient number on the bottom of the flash or not???

Not necessarily Parks but there are replicas that do have the number so that's no guarantee of vintage.

    Hi Tarkin,

So . . . how far is your vintage graflex lightsaber work in progress coming together?

PS It's PATENT number not patient number

    Hey Chaim!

Right patent number. LOL Well I finally have all the parts needed to get this thing going. I have the aluminum pop-rivets so I am pretty much set. Just been busy around here recently but i am going to start with riveting in the D-ring and clip first off. Then I am going to prep and obviously put on those beautiful grips by Gino. Lastly prep and put that bubble strip in place. So what about yours?? Have you got those grips by Gino yet? Would love to see yours when it is finished!

    Hi Tarkin,

That's great news. Yeah I have 2 sets of GINO's grips. However my Luke ANH Lightsaber is on hold getting finished again . . . since I received my VINTAGE AS HANDWHEEL for an almost all real parts Obi-Wan ANH TODAY

Awaiting instructions from James Kenobi 1138 how to progress further, without damaging all the real pieces.

PS And eventhough GINO's grips are an excellent option to put on my graflex, still after several years I keep my eyes open for the original vintage black T-track. Every time I see a cupboard from the seventies . . . I feel the urge and need to check it

IIRC, Parks used the "FOLMER" variety of bottom lettering, and spelled it with two L's to differentiate it.

    Also, the G R A F L E X lettering on the clamp is a slightly different font.

    Thanks Treadwell,

Now I know for certain that my Luke ESB lightsaber, that I purchased some years ago and back then believed to be a real graflex (from the pictures included and additional info ... = NOT ) is at least not a Parks replica but probably one of the later Manufactured in China graflex lightsabers. Since then I've learned so much about real vintage graflex flashguns and the many differences between authentic flasgun lightsabers and replica
