Why would the eye lens be red? They were smoked gray on the ROTS helmet.

Ditto....FJ - you're thinking of the ANH lid with the reddish lenses...

I guess I'm thinking of the ANH lenses being red and thinking of the scene when Vader is on the table and the helmet is being installed. We see red from the inside looking out of the lenses. Hey, man, I'm no Vader helmet specialist. I said I THOUGHT they should be red, not that they SHOULD be red.
    And I still do. :P

....yeah, I agree....continuity wise, it should also have the widow's peak, smaller chin vent, etc, etc....

    ...but hey, I'll take it!

Probably a silly question ... but where exactly on the Sig Editions will they be signed? On the dome or something?

    In response to the questions:
Yes the inside of the Dome is smooth and much othe interior is lined in leather,as well as the neck brace.

The neck brace snaps on to two tabs on the back of the face plate and the Dome is locked into position with a magnet.(I for one find it really neat.)
I will try and get more pics up tonight.

Why would it look different?? :P

Anyhoo, I actually have a wee bit of concern now...

For the most part, I guess it's because I hate "head-on" shots because it doesn't make the dome look wide and impressive.
I mean, we all know the stories about how MR was given unprecedented license to replicate this helmet exactly as it was made for the film...

    BUT

I'm just not seeing how this dome:

...could also wind up looking like this:

(And don't give me no lip, Kev... We're in the same town. I could hunt ya down. )

    ....bring it!

Actually, I see what your saying DB...although some of your pix are x's....I guess that view from the top pic pic was intended to be like a lot of the PR pics for the flick.

The one thing that I had noticed awhile ago is that the facemask seems to sit a little deeper in the dome.....hopefully, mine will be here in the next week or two and I'll see for myself!

I also looked at one of my OT Vader lids from the same angle and the dome flaps do seem to be far less flared on the ROTS lid....interesting...I guess they tightened them up....

Oooooh I want mine now! Argg! Oh well, guess this is what I deserve for listening to the MR customer service nincompoops rather than going with my gut. They might as well be outsourcing cs to India. Hmm, better not tempt fate.

But this is a show-off thread and it sure is purdy! Can't wait to open a big 'ol box like that of my own!
