And I did a little work on the wings tonight, wanna mold them before I get my cowl in the mail and start working on that :)

So I received my 3D printed Flash cowl in the mail today :) I'll be cleaning that up and getting ready to master, so now the real work begins :)

Here are some pics:

Thanks guys :)

I backed the cowl and put some primer on it tonight, along with the final primer on the wings :)

So a bit of work, putty, primer and sanding and I'll be ready to get molding... I'll update with some pics when I have some real progress to show.

WOW ... I didn't even know this thread existed until now. :eek

Up to this point, the only real discussion on this particular project had been HERE.
Very exciting to see another pick up on this and actually move it forward !!!

Even more exciting is seeing that VERY NICE cowls CAN be created via 3D Printing - as this is something I've been contemplating for some time .... so much so that I am making plans to try to build my own 3D Printer (based on the ORD BOT 3D PRINTER).

Is the 3D file for this something you would be willing to share?

Looking forward to further progress !!!

Why would I finish and paint the 3D printed cowl? Its hard plastic, would be useless for anything but display. I want to be able to wear this :)
I was just thinking that the helmet/cowl in the reference pics looks "hard" as opposed to being more flexible/rubbery ... so that's why I was asking.

:cool

Yeah but it's not gonna fit on a head if it's too hard. I'll probably do it in a high shore rubber, kind of like some of the movie helmets. An example would be the Captain America helmet, looks like its hard surface but it's actually rubber :)

That's my plan anyway :)
