    Aug 28, 2012 - First paper prop: CASABLANCA - Help! #1

Here's the first draft of my first paper prop, the letters of transit from CASABLANCA. I'm also attaching a screen grab and a still that show the prop, along with a detail from the still. I'm using Times New Roman for the font, but though close I don't think it's quite right. Since I can't read most of the text, I've faked up about 90% of it from various real documents and Google Translate. Since I don't read french, I haven't been able to puzzle out some of the text that is visible in the still.

If there are any french speakers here, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at the detail from the still and maybe give me a better idea of what's printed, or at least let me know how to improve any grammar errors in the stuff I've faked up. Also, I'd like to hear if anyone has an idea for a closer match on the font.

    Thanks,

    Clark

It looks good so far. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but I want to say how cool it is to see Casablanca props!

    Thanks. It's my favorite movie.

I've been collecting a number of found props and some not quite screen accurate stand in props related to the film, but I've looked in vain for accurate Letters of Transit.

Funny you should mention letters of transit...

Just downloaded them about 20 minutes ago. I found them on theRPF paper forums.

Yeah, I saw that. But as can be seen in the screen cap, it's not at all accurate.

Sorry for bumping this up, but I was wondering if any additional French speakers on the board might be willing to assist in improving the grammar /and or syntax on this (see top post). Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it turns out well, I intend to post the finished version as a free paper prop in a larger format.

    Thanks,

    Clark
