Farscape Props

Nifty little thing I found!

So here I am searching for something totally unrelated, Star Wars jewelry, and like all those jerk ebay sellers that label their stuff with totally unrelated popular search terms, I stumbled across something distinctly not-Star Wars. It WAS, however, distinctly Farscape.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

Nothing to do with Star Wars, I hate people like that. >.< But as you can see, aside from having a looped end instead of a ball joint, pretty much the same thing. I don't know if that's actually a tribal emblem for something else or what, but if any of you have been itching to have a PK pilot headset there's a place to start.

Just search for Star Wars under Jewelry in ebay and you should find it. :)

I posted a thread about that part over a year ago. I got mine from a different ebay seller (info on that in the other thread) But I'm glad to see there is still interest in the prop. :)

I still haven't got any work done on my headset, but I did get that mouth piece very quickly from the seller I bout it from.

Just for fun here are some before pics of some of the water guns I have found. (I know pics of these water guns have been posted elsewhere in this thread, but these are the ones I actually own.) I guess this is kind of a pointless post, but I mostly wanted to a record of what they looked like before I started making the mods to the.

first up is my Super Soaker SC400 This was my favorite of the modded water guns from farscape so I was really happy to snag this one. Since I took this picture last year, I have taken it apart, and started the mods. As I posted able, I have fixed up the hair spray can to look like the one from the show. I have made the top fin, and am more then half way done with the new barrels. I have the templates fro the stokes close to finished. I have the screens that go in the oval cutouts, ready to be painted, and I have made a few other mods. All I really have left to do, is finish to barrels, make up the stocks, paint it, and put it all together. (sounds easy, but knowing me, it will probably be 2015 before it gets done. :lol)

Next is my Super Soaker XP70 I have taken this one apart too. I have cut off the trigger guard and hand grip, and that is about it. I can't quite figure out what they used for the flood holder (where the handle used to be) It looks a little like one of those old tupperware home popcycle molds (if anyone remembers those, they where whiting clear tubes, that weren't quite round, but wheren't quite rectangle. kind of ano oval, with flat sides, if you looked at the end of them ) and the new handle on what used to be the top of the gun, looks like one of those squeeze handles you would find on one of those pinchy reachy arm things, or some kind of calking gun, but I can't find anything that looks exactly like that. So......... I'm open to any ideas on those parts.

Next we have the Super Soaker XP40 I just picked this one up, a week, or two ago, and I have done nothing with it. I am very open to ideas of how to mod it out.

my Speedloader 1500. It's may be a long time before I work on it, because it's a bit gun, and it needs big mods.

Lastly I have this little fellah. I found it at a gas station last summer. It's much, much, smaller then an actual Super Soaker SC400. I would say around 8" or 9" long. I though this would make a great EU "bank guard hold out pistol" :) Since i took this pic, I have removed the handle and tank. I have filled it with bondo to give it more weight. I have made a new smaller handel for it. (a two finger handle like you might find on a Star wars scout trooper blaster) And fixed up a metal hair scray can to go where the tank was, to make it look more like it's big brother. (I wanted to get this done for the water gun contest a few months ago, but I ended up shelfing it for a wile.) I don't have far to go on this, and hope to have it done some time this year.

Well that's about it for updates, I'm still working on a ton of other farscape projects (5 pulse pistols, vid chip reader, pulse rifle, metal comms, holster, johns trenchcoat, DRD, D'Argo's face mask from TTBRC, Johns sunglasses from the same episode, PK head set, etc. etc. etc. ETC! :lol)

So, last year for a convention I made some farscape comm badges, for myself, and the friends that were going to be costuming with me at the convention. They are more accurate in size, and shape to the ones used on the show, based on screen caps, and pics of a real screen used comm badge that was up for action a few years ago. My badges were made of real brass, real rivets, real screen, and real red leather, well swaid actually. (or how ever you spell that. :lol) With a pin back. (or what ever you call those things that look kind of like a safety pin that you find on the back of pins, and jewelry) They are hand made, and when I say "hand made" I mean it. I did it all with hand tools, no die cast, no stamping, no big power tools, and very little dremeling. (very, very, little.) Just a long of cutting buy hand, filing, sanding, polishing, etc, all by with hand tools.

Anyway's I though you all might want to see one of them. (i've taken pics of it in different lighting, to show the finish on it.)

One of the fans at the convention said they were "disgustingly good". :) I think that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. :lol

I'm going to fine tune a few things, and then I'm going to be making some more of these for some other friends. (for a fan film they maybe doing in the future.) And, I may do a few extras for sale. (we will see, it wont be for a few weeks or so, before I'll know, if I'll have to time, to do any extras.)

Looks good man! I'm pretty sure they used red lexan instead of red leather though. I used leather on mine because it's what I could find at the time. I've since gotten my hands on some 1/8" lexan but haven't gotten around to trying it out and seeing how it looks.

I have to admit, I don't know anything about lexan (or even what it is), but that very well may be what they used for the show.

However, I have a pile of red suede, and I kind of like the way it looks, and smells. It has a kind of rugged appeal. (real metal, and real leather/suede) So, I will probably just stick with the suede I have for my upcoming builds. (at least until I run out of the red suade)

That said, I truly look forward to seeing what you come up with, using the lexan, and would love to know any info, tips, etc. you have to share about it.

There was a mold for a Pulse rifle up for sale on ebay a few months back. Does anyone know if the winner plans on offering castings?

I would still love to have a Pulse rifle. I'm working on templates for making my own, but I had to put it on hold, because my girlfriend has said that I HAVE TO finish all the projects I already have started, before I start any more. :lol

After seeing some of the fantastic props others have made, I thought I would post my modest attempt at a 100 Krendar chip from the Season 4 episode "Twice Shy".

Here are a couple of screen shots:

I'm going to attempt to make the other ones in the screen cap...eventually. :)

Very cool.

When I got the box set last years, I sat down at watched the whole thing. (well not all at once, but over a couple of weeks. ) And I remember this as beeing one of the props that stood out to me. I though "hey I have some extra aluminum around here some where, I could do one of those." Well it's been a years, and I still haven't even started on that project, so I'm glade someone took it on. :)

I'd definately be interested in a couple if they went up for sale.

Even if they were resin. :)

I will certainly keep that in mind, reaper63. The whole reason I decided to make it is because I haven't seen anyone else attempt it yet. :)

Thank you for the compliment, Wolfdagon. I used Testor's flat red enamel model paint, mixed with just a tad of black. I scored the border of the design area with a hobby knife, and masked it off with painter's tape before applying the color.

Very nice! The various currency pieces have been on my "to do" list forever, glad to see someone tackleing them. :cool:thumbsup

I'm doing a small run and using clear resin with red dye in it that i'm painting on the back and front for the opaque bits. I did a test cast with one of those and it came out pretty nice. I've been having an insane amount of trouble getting the brass faceplates cut out though so no pics yet. Hopefully I'll have an update on this whole thing within the next week or two, just haven't wanted to jinx it by opening my mouth.
