A quick question he for those more experienced with making the farnsworth. Since the center knob is version of a Davies knob, Would this one work? DAVIES 1900H CLONE Brown KNOB I know there is an indicator on it but it may be able to be removed/

Also would this be a less expensive substitute for the red lens. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390276056200...84.m1497.l2649

If you are looking for electricial components in the UK then Maplins is normally a good starting place.

How is everyone mounting their faceplates into their farnworths? With all the buttons and dials attached I would imagine the faceplate would just sit in the fly box. Is this the case? Or is it necessary to mount the faceplate so it won't fall out of the box?
Season One and Two had a small screw on the back of the Farnsworth. This screw goes into the back to hold the plate on.

What I did was glue 2 nuts together (on top of one another) onto the back of the plate. I then drilled a hole through the back of the case and screwed it together. That's what the screw is for.

GOT MY FARNSWORTH AUTOGRAPHED AT MEGACON!!!

Eddie McClintock and Saul Rubinstein signed my Farnsworth!

Eddie (Pete) on the inside cover and Saul (Artie) on the front cover (he is the boss right?). It was so cool.

They were both impressed with my hand-made Farnsworth. Saul was very impressed and said "Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant." about it. I guess all the work on this forum and research made it happen.

I want to thank everyone here for the research, time and effort that made this possible. I've ordered a QMX version, but it means so much more to me that they signed the Farnsworth I built myself. You can't beat that! SNAGGED IT, BAGGED IT, TAGGED IT!!!

Here you go. I'm going to update the brass plate to get a cleaner cutout of the speaker holes. I want it to look battle-worn though. Eddie was really cool. We hit it off together, both of us being artists. I talked with him for about a half hour that day. Really cool and mission accomplished!

Yea, that's the brand Office max is selling. Is that what they use on the show? Your comment didn't make sense to me. Sorry if I'm being obtuse, I prefer to be acute one, if you catch my angle.

Hey, can anyone in the US that's ordered a Wheatley box from Wheatley in the UK chime in and let me know how long it took to arrive? I ordered one that shipped on Feb 2nd an I still haven't gotten it... Just wanted to see if it's gotten lost or if this is normal.

Thanks Gary. That makes me feel a bit more confident that I'll eventually get my box.

Customs on the uk can also hold things up, they are much stricter in the past year or so.

Thats why I went with an aluminum fly box in the us.. for $12 shipped, I had two in hand in 4 days.

Here's how the quickie Farnsworth turned out. It was used onstage at Farpoint in Baltimore. I got to play Artie in a Warehouse 13/Potter sketch called Warehouse 9 3/4.

Ok so I've looked through this whole thread and maybe I just missed it but can anybody tell me how far apart the sidejacks are? I have no idea where to drill each hole.

Mine are just under .5" apart on center, but they look a little to close to me.

I don't think a consensus was ever reached... It looks like on the prop, they're installed in the space between the red led bulb and the momentary switch, so I just did my best to sort of evenly space them there. I can take measurements when I get home if you'd like.

Just make sure they are far enough up to miss the switch under the face plate.
The first one I did was to close and took some tinkering to be able to make it fit..
