    Besides having some teaser images of their upcoming Attack of the Clones Clone Trooper helmet, and Ralph Mcquarrie Darth Vader concept helmet, eFX announced that their original pre-order date for the 500 piece Stormtrooper helmet run has been canceled. Here's what eFX has to say :

    As many of you know, we had originally announced that the pre-order day for our very first product, the Stormtrooper Helmet, was to be on May 5, 2008. However, since eFX is a brand new company, we are going to initiate many new groundbreaking ideas that some many even consider "sacrilege" since they will break some old "traditions". We have decided to scratch the whole pre-order process and establish a WORLDWIDE on-sale date when the product will be available the same day whether you are on Los Angeles, Tokyo or London! We will try to announce the availability date at least 30 days in advance. We think that our collectors will appreciate and like this new process.
    • Be able to see images of the actual product before you purchase
    • Allows you to better plan your finances since you will know exactly when your credit card will be charged
    • Eliminates the frustration of waiting an uncertain amount of time before you actually receive your product.

    It seems the email newsletters going out have random images showing new eFX products. Known so far are :
    • Ralph McQuarrie Concept Darth Vader helmet
    • Episode 2 Clone Trooper helmet
    • Episode 4 Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber

    ...so of the first 4 products listed (the other the stormie), 2 are rehashes(yeah i know they modified them) but you can buy everything twice from this new company!

    They are already making a Mcq helmet(from seeing the psuedo popularity of the ones made here im sure)...

    So they are now making the entire run , then selling them online and shipping instantly now?

    Wonder how much the price is gonna be going up with these new items...

    Modified ? as i understood it the trooper helmet is the exact same as MR's aside from the stand

    Am I missing something or does that Obi-Wan saber look like the internal works are hidden inside? In the pic, it looks like the bottom comes off and the guts are there.

    I saw that...very interesting indeed! But would it bump the price up having that sort of gimmick?

    I was hoping they'd take a shot at a more acurate Obi ANH, and even fancied getting one... Well, so much for that idea. If they're just going to load it up with useless features that only manage to drive up the price, looks like I'll be skipping this one too.

    If I ever scrape together the money, I'll probably end up getting one (and two other sabers) from that guy everyone loves to hate. It won't be as accurate, but it'll be upgradable.

    I really hope they dont just rehash things that have already been done by licensed vendors. Give Me some thing new like a Blue Royal Guard or Imperial Navy Helmet.
