Dracula Helmet Finally Finished pg. 5
Hey Guys, just started this a couple of weeks ago. The facemask is removable (even at this stage), the jaw will be hinged, and I 'll make the lobster tail for the back. The plasticene is chavant NSP. Thanks for looking!
![]() New progress. I'm going to mold the facemask first, then the helmet, and hold off on sculpting the lobster tail until I have the rest cast.

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
I like it! Are you going to leave the eye holes open? I always felt that they needed a modern touch, like a a dark lens over them.
This is a 1:6 model I made, but I cut the exposed face/eyes out. If I had the skills I would have preferred, black/mirror like lenses on it. ![]()

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
That is beautiful.
Someone should do a custom Batman suit with that. |

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
Great work, o flinger of weasels. I will be glad to take one of the first ones you offer.
Fantastic model work MSgt One Eye. Mine never looked that good, especially the sword. Is it the sword that came with the kit? I painted the second unhelmeted head as a 'bust' and gave it to a friend. She has it proudly displayed with all her Dracula stuff. Last edited by Sparticle; 07-07-2009 at 01:00 PM. |

No, the sword cam from a Dragon letter opener. It is metal and can be used to open letters. I searched everwhere for one in the proper size with the right decor. ![]() ![]() I very much a novie at building and customizing things. You can see many of my customs near the albums at the bottom of this page. http://picasaweb.google.com/home?showall=true#100 I started with 1:12 figures, did some bases. I have pain in my hands/fingers, so I have moved up to 1:6 scale. ![]() Thanks for being so kind with you compliment. Last edited by ONEYE; 07-31-2009 at 04:33 PM. |

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
Wow! About time someone did this! Nice work so far Weasle, I'll be watching this thread with much intrest, and getting some cash together!
Good lookin Armor kit Oneye, I'm actually working on the same one right now! I used the Gary Oldman head, but cut the helmet from the other bust, and adapted his arm so he can hold it. I remade the sword too, the one it comes with is junk. I did mine with abs and sand paper LOL Scabbard aswell, just layered it. That backdrop you have him on is fantastic!! Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
Thanks for all the kind words guys! I plan to leave the eyes open, but I'll maybe glue some translucent black fabric behind them.
I'm into making rather than wearing, but I still always make helmets large enough for me to wear and pratical to put on/remove (which is saying a lot b/c I have a pumpkin sized head). If everything goes according to plan I will be able to cast more than one and will post a junkyard thread if I go in that direction with it. |

Oh, I hope you will. Not a fan of the movie, but thought the helmet and creature designs were cool.

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics
I put a few more hours in today and knocked out most of the heavy lifting. I haven't started the lobster tail yet, but will probably cast the rest of the helmet before I do.
Thanks again for all the compliments, this is a project I've wanted to do since I saw the film in the theater. |
