Daleks....

Wow, unfortunately it is working for me too. Looks like a Dalek bubble bath container--you can see the join in the middle where the top twists off.
Thanks for posting, though![]()
The taper changes partway up. Why does the taper change partway up?![]()
Oh God I seriously hope not... This is a hoax right?
And, unfortunately, not a hoax. Scroll down to the slideshow:

Well, there's one more thing Moffat's done wrong. This isn't going well.
So, they are bright primary colors and all bulgey now?
These seem more like TOYS of Daleks, than Daleks. Not scary at all.![]()
This is seriously the first thing i've seen of this years show that has just made me go 'Oh **** NO!'. Looks like a cheap toy, and all wrongly proportioned. What exactly was wrong with the existing design? Especially in the colors shown in the next episode.
This is absolutely terrible... Hopefully it's just a one episode thing? Like a "these Daleks swim" kind of deal?Well, there's one more thing Moffat's done wrong. This isn't going well.
Out of interest what else has Moffat done wrong? (not that I entirely disagree)
Honestly, I think most of it is same as people saying RTD did things 'wrong'. A lot of it is down to personal taste and interpretation. But finally this is something about New Who I think 99% of people will agree on. It's just... terrible. The RTD Era daleks were a perfect update of the original. Nothing too fancy or diverse. These things look like cheap toys of the Peter Cushing Movie Daleks. Horrid.
I'll be curious to see if my opinion changes after Saturdays episode. I'm not overly optimistic now. Shame as everything else I've seen of that episode looks quite superb.
O god, they come in different colors now like iPods! The grey and black one doesent looks that bad, kinda takes away from the buldgy body style
I'll wait to see them moving and in context. I kinda like them. Retro. Fits with Matt Smith's Doctor.
Not as industrial or agressive as the RTD era ones, but I guess that's kind of the point. Anyway my only potential quibble is that from some of those angles they give the appearance of being hunched over a bit.... But I'll wait and see on Saturday.
I do like that they've changed them though... nice to have a complete clean break and make everything new.
But why change these but not *other spoilery thing* which appears later in the series according to the commercial... I agree that things look different moving. I'll try and keep my hope afloat until then.
Could always rewatch The Chase which includes overly squeaky and hyperbolistic daleks, as well as the 'special' Dalek who mumbles, murmers and does bad math. Really that story seemed so much better when I got it on VHS.
thats gotta be a joke...it looks like a blow-up dalek
oh bloody hell !!! this design is just god awful !!! i agree the rtd ones were a lovely update but this.....words fail me just how much i dont like it.
it's official moffats an arse
he ruined the titles, the outside of the tardis looks like moulded pvc doors its just too pristeen
i like the inside except the small metal spikey spinning ball it just looks out of place
and now the daleks are having a weight problem ?
please dont let him loose on the cybermen.
Well, looks like he ripped the head off of one already..
Far as I can tell, the design remains unchanged, however.
The military green dalek is the only one we've actually seen in the previews, so I'm holding out hope that the ribbed ones are just a cruel hoax. They look like something my wife would discreetly keep in her purse.
Lose the Nu-Who origin. Remove the alternative universe thread, get them back to being descended from Mondas. I love the helmet, the suit is ok in theory, lose the 'C' on the chest. Make them slightly more flexible in their movement ability. And make them sound less like a factory machine when moving. :P
It's easy for me to armchair design and I wish no offense to those who designed the original, but I just miss me some old school cybermen...![]()
