Re: dexter watch
I got a call earlier this afternoon from the jewelers saying my watch has returned. After a complete overhaul, here she is! Basically brand spanking new.

Re: dexter watch
sick pinder, looks just like mine!! Awesome, pure awesome. here is a pic of mine that i dont think i ever posted a pic of except a far away one when i had two of them.
sorry pic isnt that great, taken off my iphone4. also, i've been thinking lately how i don't want to wear this watch all the time incase something happens to it, does anyone know of a similiar looking waltham as far as kinda having the same looking case, doesn't have to the round markers, can have #'s or what ever, but am curious as to what some have bought for similiar looking watches. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last edited by Rbeato; 01-16-2012 at 07:50 PM. |

Re: dexter watch
Is anyone on here the high bidder for the one currently on ebay??? That band is hideous. lol
But hopefully one of those douches doesn't bid it up all high as usual so someone can get it for around the price its currently at. But as long as they don't bid them up anymore since the rage has gone down since last year, and most people that really really want one got one they will become affordable to others again. I really want another to put my current one on display and one to wear, i've been lucky wearin it that it still looks like the day i got it. Even if it wasn't the watch Dex wears it really is an awesome looking watch, my boss has some expensive Bulova thats all flashy and to me my Waltham looks better. Re: dexter watch
didn't someone on here buy the one that just got put up on ebay today?
good call with the no bidders, but be careful because there is 2 others out there with barely any feedback that do the same as far as buying and not paying up. good luck |

Re: dexter watch
and atleast since most that wanted one got one, most likely those bidders who were screwing bidders and sellers alike will finally stop so if someone still wants one they can get one at a good price. last actual auction one sold for $237 which is very fair compared to what they were going for when those bidders kept bidding them up, i remember that one they bid up to over $1000 and ofcourse didn't pay.

Re: dexter watch
yup prices are lowering like crazy, that one that recently sold for $237 must have been won by one of those non payers, and the auction was put up for buy it now of only $75. now atleast those who wanted them before and couldn't afford them can. Finally!

Re: dexter watch
That is good to hear. While I'm still happy with the price I paid, I've been without my watch for just over 3 weeks now. Turns out there was a defective replacement part used when it was being rebuilt the first time. It's getting fixed under warranty and will hopefully be done in another week.

Re: dexter watch
well that sucks pinder, but atleast its under warranty, do you wear yours?? As most don't, like i've said before I do, but the one I was wearing was in such mint condition I did not want anything to happen to it so I got another, cheap, for $85 from an auction that popped up outta no where with a buy it now and grabbed it, and it turned out to be in just as good of condition but the crown is a tad loose but the movement is great so it doesn't need winding. So my old one is on a watch display and this one on my wrist, still need to get the right band for it as I just have a different spiedel i just had laying around, but I just feel the band on the new season was different. But its definitely good the crazy rage is over, and the prices are with in reason for those who still may want one but not pay an arm and a leg for one, but due to that one being relisted after being sold it seems those guys are still out there bidding and not buying, why at this point? I have no clue especially since not that many people are after them. Like Tyler said, most of the people that wanted one, got one.
But in the end, its still my favorite prop from the show since its used daily. |

Re: dexter watch
I just got a bit of interesting information regarding the watch.
My watch has been in for warranty repair work since mid January. I got it back about 2 weeks ago, finally, and within 2 days it was having the same issues that I originally brought it in for. To make a long story shorter, the jeweler sent it to their "go-to guy" (he actually works out of his house, not some big company) who re-did EVERYTHING and also found out some interesting information... Apparently my watch is a knockoff from the early 70's. I would guess that is the reason we've seen them with flat (knockoff?) and pointed hour/minute hands. This is just speculation on my part though. The good news is that he said the movement inside actually is all swiss, so it will still keep excellent time. And bonus for me I can pick it up tomorrow. LOL So, if anyone else is still looking, beware of the possibility of it being a knockoff. |

Re: dexter watch
so the ones with pointed hands are not knock offs?

Re: dexter watch
That's my theory at the moment. Didn't know Waltham was desirable enough to have knockoffs made 40 years ago.

Re: dexter watch
